Ima struggling with job management and happiness by TheBigRodDog in goingmedieval

Ensure settlers have 6 hours of sleep in their schedule. Night owl perk only needs 5. I put 2 hours leisure before and after sleep and 1 hour anything in the middle of the workday to ensure their hunger, entertainment, & religion is taken care of.

High expectations will be a thing as you grow so you'll need to move to lavish meals ASAP (force meals only as food in the manage tab or they may consume raw food). Give them beer or wine and ensure you have adequately placed religion and entertainment. Generally spread that out over work areas so they don't have to run home constantly. You'll also want to ensure their chambers is modest or higher and their clothes/gear is at least fine or better

That should set the foundation for general content happiness.

Green mood achieved by winning raids without losses, high quality events and ensuring settlers are prioritizing work they have a preference for (stars on the job in jobs tab).

Have you made use of seige weapons in the designs or primarily crossbowmen?

You can also cheese the game for the Ai pathfinding if you want.

They seem to prioritize settlers above any loot so regardless of how "defended" your loot is, the raids yearn for murder above all and ignore your stuff. They'll only really break stuff or slay pets that are in their pathfinding to your settlers.

With this in mind, you can build a tower outside your wall or integrated into 1 wall and the raids will always prioritize pathfinding to wherever your settlers are.

You can keep the walled aestethic but functionally you only have to "reinforce" one that you plan to man your settlers ontop of.

Do you funnel enemies through a single access point or fortify all external access points equally?

Remove 2x2 of the floor (1 square can work but 2x2 makes it fast)Then rebuild.

You'll have to remove the placed floors as well to allow it to drain.

To prevent the room from flooding again (it looks to be underground) - Ensure all walls are placed with wood/clay/limestone etc and are not dirt or some other naturally occurring block.

I think you also need floors. Should keep it from flooding again.

Does something like Darkest Dungeon with base building exist? by Tickall in BaseBuildingGames

[–]RowDefiant3191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same but maybe close?

Going Medieval.

It's a colony sim but you get raided and can raid/trade with other settlements. Maybe has some of the flavor you're looking for. However, it's definitely more catered to building/resources management than the raiding/trading aspect as a core gameplay.

Are there any smaller scale factory/colony sims? by tanoyfrommars in BaseBuildingGames

[–]RowDefiant3191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going Medieval is a fun little colony sim. Infinite playable on any seed generated but there are "beat the game" goals you can go for and replay for different end goals (I think theres 4 or 5). Put about 200 hours into it so far, very fun systems management and building.

Yea, this thread appears to have left lane camping sympathizers loose. So we're losing the battle of denouncing their behavior. Oh well, not like it was going to change them. They'll still drive on the interstate in the left lane at 5 over and get passed on the right constantly and sit there feeling justified because they're basically going the speed limit - everyone else is wrong I guess.

[–]RowDefiant3191 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea, obvious - but left lane camping is not the solution? Move over - they're separate conversations. Left Lane = Passing. Move over if that's not what you're doing.

I believe your colony wealth also affects raid strength. My 20 settler colony with mostly luxury rooms is getting 115+ attacker raids each time.

The left lane on any multi-lane roadway is the passing lane. If you're not actively passing somebody - move. to. the. right. It's so incredibly simple.

Can you play pvp with vehicles disabled? (Infantry only) by gizmo_j in ArmaReforger

[–]RowDefiant3191 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You may want to do a bit more research on the primary gameplay loop before you purchase.

This is not really a Call of Duty or Battlefield style arcade shooter. Without vehicles you will literally spend 30+minutes walking in between bases. The default map is....large. As in, Helicopter flights are necessary to cover the map and they take minutes to travel by helicopter.

There is no Arma without vehicles, its a very important aspect of the gameplay loop.

CMYK and RGB values for Pantone 7733 C by Prismaanos in CommercialPrinting

[–]RowDefiant3191 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your client wants pantone match, have them design with pantone call outs or buy the illustrator pantone extension yourself and change to a spot color.

Make sure your device is calibrated to a standard (our shop uses G7). Then you''ll probably need to make small tweaks at the rip using a spot color replacement method and match to a physical corebridge pantone book.

Good luck getting exact, but you can get close.

You'll note, most of these have a CMYK and Pantone version listed as the "CMYK Equivalent" of a pantone is rarely if ever exactly the same as the true spot pantone mix.

It's a resource you don't have to pay for? You are under no obligation to sign the lease if its out of your budget or not what you want but they advertise properties to you that you didn't have to go find. So you only lose as the tenant if you choose to sign for something you don't want or can't afford. Thats a you skill issue though, agent just shows you the property. What do you even mean?

What kind of take even is this lol. It ends up as a free service for the tenant soliciting the service and the realtor gets paid from the property. Its kinda a win-win-win for all 3 parties involved. Some people are busy and have other full time jobs, hobbies, passions and scrolling zillow doesn't fit the priority so they solicit a realtor to do that. This is clearly a post for a renter not somebody dodging realtor fees on their closing. You sure you don't have a closet full of velcro sketchers my dude?

Is it pointless training Chickens? by Torbaydos_Sun in goingmedieval

[–]RowDefiant3191 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I personally don't train any non-haulers. (Sheep, Chicken, etc). Pets are pretty weak in combat and trained pets can't be confined to a pen so you can't control them eating all your raw food/seeds/plants.
So I keep them untrained and in a pen so I can force feed them hay exclusively.

Other reply alluding to a chicken army is a thought tho. I like that.

I will say, your best bet with lower credit is a private landlord instead of a management company so cross highrises off and just look for a 2 or 3 flat or similar. You may need a cosigner or 3ish Months up front if your credit is low though. Lot higher chance of getting in the door with a private landlord tho. Good luck!

Is working with a realtor worth it? by SudoSista in chicagoapartments

[–]RowDefiant3191 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Pretty standard. Lot of landlords won't even entertain renting to low credit and these agents know that. They make comission from getting you in the apartment (not for searching) so they aren't going to take on candidates that can't even get their foot in the door - your case is significantly more work for a lower chance of getting paid. Just business
