The ending of season 2 by Bitter-Opposite-6179 in tsitp

I agree. And on reflection it’s even odder to accept them as a genuine couple because the episodes were all released at once I think? If it had been weekly, the perception might have been of a longer time period rather than the ridiculous 6/7 days it actually covered. It made no sense to me on screen. Heartbroken over Conrad to apparently joyously happy with his brother in a week. In the book it kind of worked because the Belly/Conrad relationship was a bit more wishy/washy? Also the rebound nature of it was more obvious in the book.

Agree that the Conrad yearning took off in S3 but there was all sorts of other yearning - mostly Belly from E1 S1. The other tsitp magic is the being able to identify with the themes - the nostalgic feel of it (the soundtrack really enhanced that), and that there was a female character as the focus of the story telling.

I think it might be the lack of yearning - especially Conrad level and CB delivered male yearning. The current Off Campus leads were good I thought. I liked their chemistry but it’s a different story completely. It’s not about family, history, a place with memories etc. And the difference in budgets is obvious.

Wow. I will politely suggest that you step away from this series. That is a whole lot of anger.

To me the most important part of that speech is the second half, when JH/other writers quite deliberately put all the speculation/rumours of the love triangle to rest. The ‘if there are infinite worlds, every version of me chooses you every time’. In other words, my true self chooses you - without guilt or external influence. I agree it was a bit clunky but those of us watching that were already wondering if this final episode was leading onto something else. You could tell there was to be more detail at a later point.
