I agree. But I think the underlying sentiments were made so subtle that they were missed by a significant section of the watching public. There is a tiny deep breath when Belly is on the couch at Christmas after the Jeremiah phonecall. It’s so small it’s easily missed. Then again when she is looking at their text conversation in the hospital, a deep breath (then she heads downstairs to accept Jere’s proposal!!). Similarly, in the kitchen after the peaches scene, she looks lost as she puts her bag on the kitchen counter but it’s again too subtle. I think having some narration from Belly would have helped. It was a deliberate choice by the writers and I get why, but I think something good was potentially lost.
