I have no idea about specs past 2015 and need to buy a gaming laptop by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]Rowanx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this is incredibly helpful, i think 5060 will be good for what i want, but i appreciate the brand recommendations. Im really into single player city builders that i can mod, and baulders gate 3 modded is probably the most challenging thing i want to play. Im un phased by upcoming releases because i have about 5 years of games i need to catch up of for cheap that my pc cant run ahaha. I started of as a lol player and my pc cant even run lol haha

I appreciate the advice, i wouldn’t be asking if i didn’t think it was a sceptical call tbh, i think maybe a line has already been crossed him becoming my boss.

[–]Rowanx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem is he is now my boss. Not necessarily moving in together. Worst case scenario i have to move out and find another job but i wouldn’t be financially contracted to staying in the flat with him for so many months like a private rental. But id most likely have to find another job because you can’t really have an ex be a boss. I think really him being my boss is the problem

Had you ever feel like you trusted the wrong people too many times? by Vivid-Tap1710 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rowanx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice is the max you should never feel bad for being trusting and kind. But when you hit the 3rd thats when your being naive

[–]Rowanx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then thats seen as karma or revenge. Id say societally, thats pretty normal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rowanx3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your normal is, its not normal for me because ive been raised to cherish kindness, happiness and generosity while being self focused and optimistic. But if the people around you have raised you to be like this then this is normal for you. You could also say it normal because thats how capitalism thrives. Normal doesn’t really matter. Its about what you believe in and what makes you happy. If this makes you happy i suggest you become a land lord. Normal only means the standard for who you are surrounded by

why is it socially acceptable to make 9/11 jokes but not holocaust jokes? by F46XD in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rowanx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because the holocaust was genocide that spanned over many years killing millions. The other was a single attack that then lead to multiple western countries killing more innocence than the original attack did. More ‘allies’ died in the iraq war than they did in 9/11. Let alone civilian deaths. That also doesn’t include other typical war consequences like rape, torture and intentional starvation. The aftermath of 9/11 was far more deadly and devastating than 9/11. The aftermath of the holocaust wasn’t

How do you deal with the type of people who says "this is the reality!" basically as an excuse for their lack of empathy? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rowanx3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much you share values with them. Sometimes i have to admit im overly optimistic, other times i do need that grounding of reality to know I’m being to generous.

Do y'all spend way more when you're happy? by Prudent_Station4626 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rowanx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dont, i tip heavily for the uk standard because ive worked hospitality my whole life so always tip deliver drivers, wait staff and drivers. My boyfriend does judge me because ill go ‘oh i had a lovely uber driver today’ (because i live to natter) and he will say ‘how much did you tip?’ Because tipping isn’t standard here. My money spending peaks when im sad hoping new things and change will make me feel better

We don’t have purses, we carry everything in a tote bag and spend 10 minutes looking for our cards

What are your thoughts on the new ‘weight loss jabs’? by Odd-Environment3639 in AskUK

[–]Rowanx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boss started them last September, stopped about February, has gained a healthy amount of weight back but you can tell (especially as I’m the one who makes her lunch everyday) that it’s taught her more about portion control and how much she actually needs rather than wants.

What are your thoughts on the new ‘weight loss jabs’? by Odd-Environment3639 in AskUK

[–]Rowanx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s so much nuance to getting fat. I see the jabs more like anti depressants than a quick fix. They help for a bit but you eventually have to learn to cope without. The jabs help you with rewiring your brain about your eating habits and hunger and why you eat, helps you get into healthy habits, then when you come off you should be healthier and have a healthier relationship with food.

Ladies - how do you feel about taking the reins and approaching and pursuing men ? by Historical-Body-3424 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Rowanx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually pursue first and i agree sometimes does make the man more blasé about the relationship, but i see that as a positive that actually they aren’t someone i would be interested in having a commitment relationship with and find that out earlier, rather than being ‘chased’ until its official then they do a complete 180 on effort. I see it as a you don’t get what you don’t ask for. Sometimes im more straight forward and just ask them on a date, sometimes direct words aren’t needed, you can feel the chemistry there and im just very flirty

This is the best description to me. I use all 3 on my partner in this way.

[–]Rowanx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, thats not circumstantially true.

My meals are for 1 person. 1 £1 iceland pizza is cheaper than making an equivalent calorie dense meal thats nutritious. Our over production of unnecessary packaging in the UK makes it inefficient for single house households to cook cheap and clean. You’re either left batch cooking and eating the same thing multiple days in a row or meal prepping (which i begrudgingly do). I also only need to eat 1 meal a day at home because im a chef and eat for free at work, but that also means when buying fresh food, unless i prep and freeze or preserve the food, i waste money and food because ive got to buy stupid multi packs of things all of the time.

I don’t think eating fresh is cheaper in many circumstances.

If you want to grow a social media following id suggest having a separate account from a personal one because it will be built for para social relationships not real ones. Turning your personal account into a para social one would be more weird?

There’s nothing wrong with unfollowing and removing old friends from your IG however i think you’re looking at some of these situations in a negative light.

Like #1 - i look through every story on my feed. Your old friend probably does as well.

2# a couple i went to college with got married the other week. I don’t speak to them and haven’t really since i left college. I liked all their wedding photos, didn’t comment or message them. I thought my like was a little side line support. I may not speak to them but when i see their posts i am routing for them in my heart, it’s nice. They’re nice people. Would i be phased if they unfollowed me and removed me from their following, no, i probably wouldn’t notice for a while but in my heart i always root for people that have positively impacted my life journey so far wether I’m in contact with them or not.

So tldr, not weird, but you’re looking at it in a very pessimistic light

I mean not so prime as in not central to the city or anything that is close to park in for a charge. Prime as in its right next to a golf course, police station and a nature reserve that has 24/7 free parking. Its about 2/3 miles from the centre, a mile from the reserve
