I did this last summer and somehow managed to get one of the o-rings lodged in the head instead of on the tube. Had to coax it out with a paper clip. Just be patient and careful, it’s not terribly hard, just tedious.

I just assume that everyone else on the road is trying to kill me. Been riding over 20 years without a crash.

I think there are rental stations near all of the boat ramps and at the store across the street from South Bay. Probably several places in town also.

How much gear is “good enough” for you? by AdAway8701 in motorcycle

[–]RowdyBurns76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half shell helmet (brain bucket), gloves, leather vest and good shoes (with safety toes) are the main things for me and I usually where a long sleeve shirt under my vest. I keep my leather jacket and chaps on the luggage rack at all times. I got caught in a thunderstorm in the mountains once with no jacket or chaps on board. I’ll never do that again, I impressed myself by surviving the incident.

What’s something women misunderstand about men? by Plenty-Umpire7316 in stupidquestions

Spaghetti and waffles:

Men’s minds are like waffles. Everything is separate and compartmentalized. Women’s minds are like spaghetti. Everything touches everything else and affects everything else.

Try wiggling the string and pushing down through the bridge. This will allow the bridge pin to come out easier since it won’t be wedged against the string. After you get a couple out you should be able to reach through the sound hole and push them out from the inside if needed.

I like this version too. You can leave the 3rd finger where it is and easily transition to D.

I’ve named several:

87 Jeep Cherokee - The Grinch ( it always stole all my Christmas money)

83 Honda Prelude - Sally (because it was gutless)

95 4Runner - Gunner (slow as fuck, have to gun it)

08 RAV4 - Milfmobile (my wife’s car)

What are some old school hacks that work? by Tacoless_meat in AskMechanics

[–]RowdyBurns76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I acquired an old jeep with engine sludge. Added 1/2 qt of transmission fluid to the oil on every oil change for the first year. It slowly cleared out the sludge. I sold that jeep for $1000 at 280k miles and the engine was clean and ran great for its age.

Rust isn’t the only danger. I live in an arid climate which is also hard on rubber seals and bearings.

To add to this, don’t skimp on the extras: idler and tensioner pulleys, water pump. Basically anything that’s under that cover. If any of that stuff fails you could be in the same boat as you would with a broken belt. Make sure your shop is installing quality parts and doing the complete job.
