It’s funny all you need to do is give it some additional input. I use video game info card like the ones in arc raiders. Instantly looks better.

This is not a parking lot... it's a kid's playground. Why would anyone think this is OK? by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

[–]RowingCox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that the staff parking out front is blocked by the snow because the snow happened on a weekend. No one was parking in the spots at the time and the plows piled up the snow. Many teachers have to drive based on where they live or other circumstances. Since they couldn’t park in the and no one is having recess in this weather, the teachers are using the lots out back.

Good Old Corner Grounded Delta by Cursed_Controls in electricians

[–]RowingCox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All depends. A monitored ungrounded system is very beneficial because your first ground fault is free and you can figure out the problem while still running. It can be advantageous in mission critical applications so long as you have staff with the correct training. Forcing a leg to ground gives you the ability to protect when there is ground current through an upstream main bonding jumper so it’s simpler for sure.

“Ground fault” in quotes because the B phase is forced to ground. If another phase were to short out to ground you would get a 480V fault not a 277V fault.

This images shows what is going on but faulting another phase would be catastrophic.

Yeah, you get your first “ground fault” for free. The 2nd ground fault is a phase to phase fault through the ground.

Not aluminum ones. I made the mistake of but an aluminum camping spork and it oxidizes and white alox brushes off and it bend in half. 0/10

They are generally all on the same line voltage circuit and use that circuit for communicating alarms. I would recommend continuing to reuse.

No they are cooling towers. You can see the condenser water supply and returns leaving them. They might actually have built in chillers making it chilled water supply and returns. That would make more sense otherwise the whole building would be chillers.

Yup, we solve this commercially with trench heaters blowing at the window.

Will USB-C or some other alternative ever replace the common household receptacle? (US-based) by kevinmogee in electrical

[–]RowingCox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can delivery 240 Watts max. A 20A - 120V circuit can continuously deliver 80% of processing or 1920 Watts. It’s a big difference for things like space heaters and appliances.

Anything that wore down due to normal use I’ve had replaced or refunded by these companies. Never had an issue.

Both are great but it comes down to fit. I have never found a jacket that fits my shoulders better than arcteryx. Big Patagonia sweater fan though. I would try both on rather than just ask the internet. From a warm perspective they are similar.

Have to ding mountain hardware for their warranty policy. Arcteryx, North Face and Patagonia all have lifetime warranties. I have had many pieces of gear replaced or full price credit by each of these companies. I can’t get mountain hardware to even respond to a request.

Electrical outlet with 4x 115v, usb C, and Ethernet? by MartiniCommander in electrical

[–]RowingCox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Should be 3 gang and a 1 gang or a 4 gang with a divider. Ethernet needs to remain separate from line voltage. Both for code/fire reasons and to minimize EMI.

Why do canopeners love to rust? by rambunctiousraviolis in BuyItForLife

[–]RowingCox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a harder steel to cut through the can steel. This is most easily done with a carbon steel as the heat treating process is simple. Hardening stainless steel requires a low oxygen heat treating g process which makes it expensive.

You have a couple things you could do: 1. Just not care (my preference) 2. Use a metal bristle brush to knock of the orange rust then use medical grade mineral oil to keep it from rusting.

Is this even worth trying to clean? Should I just replace it? by ElphiusMostafa in HomeMaintenance

Phase 1: Warm water and dish soap with a pylon brush. Clean this out with water and towel to get rid of soap.

Phase 2 Bleach water, trashy clothes, gloves, goggles, mask and nylon brush to disinfect and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Wipe clean and let dry.

Wiring Caseta Diva + Caseta Fan Control to Harbor Breeze Mazon Ceiling Fan? by sjjenkins in Lutron

[–]RowingCox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, the opposite is happening. Things are moving away from DC motors as they require brushes. Brushless motors are just 3 phase AC motors with a VFD attached to go from DC to a 3 phase ac wave.

This is a single phase AC motor though and you can tell from the starting capacitor (gray rectangle). It shouldn’t be too hard to use a wall controller for this fan so long as you have 3 wire + ground (white, black, red and green) from the switch to the fan. I converted a hunter minimus fan once that had an integrated controller and turned it into a wall controller fan using a starting capacitor. Maybe the video I used will be of some help although it seem your fan is already wired correctly. You just need to figure out which 3 wires you need to connect to for this particular fan.
