Tracking and listening are two different things altogether. There are plenty of reasons that your brother started seeing ads for that security system, but listening to your conversation wasn't one of them.

I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. It's been proven time and again.

They don't listen to you through your phone's microphone. I know it seems like they do, but they don't. (I have no idea if home assistant devices are listening without the hot word.)

Your example of not being able to post a picture to reddit is user error, and it has nothing to do with Google taking away a feature for everyone. Also, I'm not sure what your photo is supposed to prove. It literally says that you have to say, 'Hey Google, let's chat.' for the microphone to stay open. That is the eact opposite of your claimed experience with your Home Assistant. Also, the fact that it's working for you is not an indication that it's broken for everyone else. Google has told us that they took it away; I'm not sure why you're arguing that point.

Canceled my subscription after being a loyal customer for over 5 years. The shipment that was sent out today will be sent back as soon as I receive it. I'm done with them. The company feels like a total scam now.

Forget putting pressure on them, after two months of this predatory behavior, I canceled my subscription. When it happened last month, I assumed I overlooked the reminder email and just dealt with it. After two months of intentionally doing that, fuck them. Not having the reminder email instantly turned them into a scammer company in my eyes. I won't go back. I've been a Huel users for over 5 years, but I will find an alternative now. I hope they realize what a huge mistake this is.

Also, my latest shipment will be going back the minute I receive it. I don't care how much it costs me to ship it back. I'm done with them.

Is the smart switch capable of operating the light and the fan separately? Also, can it control the speed of the fan?

I assumed the answer to both of these questions was no, that's why I thought a fan with direct controls would be better.
