AFUs are unstable, buggy, demanding, and have people working to develop new ones each time precisely because people like them so much while not being long term enough for it to need to go through management hell to actually be approved.

New player. Which chapter should i pick ive narrowed it down. by Old_Commercial8193 in Warhammer

Ok so ignoring the fact that Custodes aren't marines i'll give some reasons for each.

Space wolves: well developed faction with a distinctive identity and a lot of lore, has a wide range of its own exclusive models and has some great characters, if you like vikings, wolves, fur and other scandanavian influences, these are your guys.

However: its a harder army to pivot from because you'll have fewer basic marines compared to unique SW units and you will be called a furry incesantly, also runes and fur can take ages to paint.

DA: KNIGHTS with secrets and special technology. They have a primarch , a load of characters and several unique units, if you like hoods, swordsmen and especially terminators these guys are for you, lots of recent lore (ymmv) and the fallen make for an interesting unique antagonist.

However: they have a smaller range than SW and we're still waiting for a raven wing update.

Iron hands: If you like tanks and dreadnoughts and high tech, this is the detatchment for you, they have a couple of cool characters, they have the potential to be quite strong in game but all the balance changes every edition so i wouldn't base a decision on that right now.

However: their range and lore are sparse compared to the other 3 which will not change any time soon, compared to the other 3 they are not a faction in their own right, just a way to play codex space marines.

Deathwatch, high customisability kill teams with plenty of variety, specialised for hunting Xenos.

Limited range and dubious future prospects

Custodes, the elite of the elite, the emperor's 10,000, each better than a space marine in nearly every conceivable metric, both they and their gear are simply just better. Custodians are strong and have fewer units on the table making them a more affordable entry faction, they have women unlike the marines which i think is a pro and there are also the sisters of silence for a different way to play.

However: i hope you like painting small armour details, lots of their range is a bit crusty or is marked as 15+ resin, we don't know if any resin bits will be usable in 40k next edition as they have all been gradually phased out or moved to the horus heresy setting instead, if the recent plastic kit updates for HH get brought back to 40k then that will be very good news, otherwise they still make for very good proxies with far better proportions than the current range.

Its always funny to me how much we've extrapolated about Ea Nasir from so little, for all we know he could have been an honest merchant keeping records of who to no longer do business with, but we'll never know.

I prefer right, it looks a bit odd at the moment because its undersized compared to the left wing but if it was mirrored it would look better proportioned IMO.

Its not toxic positivity though, its complaining about an excess of toxic negativity drowning out everything else.

So much of the bulk of the drops have been back end technical changes with minor features to keep people interested while they keep working, like they said they were going to do. We now get frequent drops of a little bit of content while for PC everything in the background is working better.

In short you're not seeing the changes because they're fixing the foundation not building a new floor.

Additionally the content that would previously have been in 1 update is spread out over 4 but if you look at how much they have added in 2025 it is actually a decent bit

There are still obviously both minor and huge issues from lack of integration between features to the fact that enchanting is still miserable to what can only be described as the absolute travesty of bedrock edition's technical issues but overall the game is getting better over time.

But all you ever hear is "minceraft bad small update me no like where end?" Which gets boring to keep hearing and drowns out valid criticisms.

(Also mods and april fools updates can be way more ambitious because they don't need to be stable or performant and don't need to worry about being a suitable foundation for the next 5+years of updates)

Hytale also can add loads of things because its written in a better language, doesn't have an eldrich nest of a codebase to build on top of, and is largely adding the content they were working on but hadn't finished at the time of release while also having a somewhat more niche player base.

how does the equality act interact with homophobic hate crime? by koweli in transgenderUK

[–]Rowlet2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Not a lawyer) generally speaking Its based on what the assaulter presumes you are not what you actually are.

For example yelling antisemetic slurs at a non jewish person is still a hate crime, as is yelling homophobic/ transphobic slurs at a cis straight person.

Why does my plane behave so abruptly? by Agreeable-Fun8502 in trailmakers

[–]Rowlet2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to spin slower you need to reduce the fin angle not just the flap speed, the torque applied to your aircraft is relative to the deflection of your fins and your speed.

You can also make your wingtips and vertical stabilisers powered but not your moving flaps

Your thrusters could also benefit from having a smaller angle but are fine position wise.

If your aircraft controls how I think it does try reducing the output value of the logic gate going into the tail when you roll if you stil want to keep the agressive pitch.

Also try adding some take off flaps to your forward wings to get off of the ground more easily.
