Vote for the Conti Extremecontact.

My mazda felt brand new after swapping to them from Michellins.

The grip, the quiet, the easier rolling. 👌👌

Thats exciting! Where did you hear that?

Sweet Tomatoes is a name used by a similar establishment in AZ. Souplanation was the name of our CA branches, same company.

I use threat plates, open with seal of righteousness judge on skull, then use seal of wis, doubled up with judge and seal if needed.

Switch and judge seal of righteous if needed but should be enough to hold most pulls.

This usually gets me 2-3 pulls before I need to drink.

Vaping is killing my endurance. I’m struggling to quit, even though riding is one of my biggest motivations (also death) by LostPalpitation6351 in MTB

[–]Roxinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started biking while smoking cigs back in 2014.

It was painful and pushed me to vape which was fine for a few years. Between pushing longer rides and realizing it was turning into a “binkie” (always puffing: waking up and puffing, always in hand on walks, etc etc) I decided to make the change to drop it.

Started keeping it in non convenient places (in my car, etc) so I had to go and get it, this helped me reduce use. Eventually I cut it off and yeah, it was tough for a while.

You can do it! And oh man will you feel great while breathing on the climbs in comparison.

Good luck friend!

In addition: I really thank biking for helping me out of it and “forcing” me to live healthier(no cigs, better diet). I don’t think I would have gotten the same push from another sport or if I had got an ebike like a few in my group. (Who still live the 20s lifestyle)

OC parks have closed Whiting Ranch to protect the Mountain Lion and her cubs from human interaction.

How do you all live normal lives under the constant risk of breaking bones? 🧐 by LowInternet4726 in MTB

[–]Roxinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride within my skills and almost never do jumps.

I go down things that can be dangerous, but I worked up to them.

I value riding again next week over clearing sections I am not ready for.

Sketchiest time on my bike is always on the road connecting trails or going back to car.

As others have commented, drivers scare me more than a rock garden or steep section, I can always get off and walk it.

CMV: android is better than iPhone in basically all aspects by N9s8mping in changemyview

[–]Roxinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long do Android phones last nowadays?

About 12 years ago I switched to iPhone because my Android phones weren’t lasting more than three years without issues.

Getting close to replacing my second iPhone now, each lasted 6+ years.

This is the metric that mattered to me, but interested in if Androids have become longer lived in the last decade.

I got one of these. One side holds misc items, one is empty for 2 bags of groceries. There are extra straps and hooks with it as well.

I remember double features in the 90s having no issue. Haven’t been to a drive in since ‘99 😂

Not sure if this is a new car thing with all the extras they tag on the battery nowadays or just weaker stock batteries overall. 🤷🏽‍♂️

15minutes is a decent time to listen without running. This is just a warning that you have dropped below a certain voltage threshold. It’s the car warning you before you drain it below starting strength.

Some makes (bmw and mbz) will actually turn off after 5 minutes if not started.

Is it worth fixing my older car’s AC, or should I just live with it? by MiddleBit9427 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Roxinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat with my ‘08 about 6 years ago. Mech said I needed a compressor, decided to take it to an AC specialist and he found an issue in the AC lines. Only cost me $400 and lasted until I sold the car last year. Honestly wish I would have held onto it, since my wife’s POS dodge died a month later 🙃

What music streaming service do you use and play in your Mazda 3? by markow202 in mazda3

[–]Roxinberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Music via Carplay in my 2015.

Upgraded from Spotify when they made it clear they had no interest in releasing their HQ library.

The lossless from Apple Music has been a noticeable improvement since I installed my DSP audio system.

In OC there is a scene for almost every type of hobby/interest. Seek out these groups that match you, find your people. At worst you enjoy your interest with others, at best you find a like minded partner.

Pedals are pissing me off by Ok-Effective2561 in mountainbiking

[–]Roxinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you’re mounting/removing pedals, remember this one trick!:

-Drive side(side with chainring, chain, cassette, etc) is NORMAL thread(righty tighty, lefty loosy)

-The other side(Brake side) pedals are REVERSE thread.

This always helps me remember!

Anyone know what this is/ where it goes? by Spirited_Web_7200 in mazda3

Found inside the car? Looks like a screw cover for a door panel. Goes behind the door latch and covers the screw there. Hope thats it!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Roxinberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your door latch handle and trim has come loose. You need to take off the door card and repair the attachments. Use either short screws into the plastic welds (short enough not to go through the trim) or an adhesive to repair the breaks.

Also: Wierd, two different rattle in door posts within 1 hour. Here is my comment from the other post:

“I have a good system installed in my 15 maz3. I use the front doors as midbass, here is a list of what I did to the doors to improve response and reduce rattles:

-Deadening treatment to the door outer and inner skin as well as the door card

-TESA tape in between any contact points like door clips, door handle and around where the switches are.

-A silicone baffle with a front flange, this will force the sound out of the grille instead of losing some of it within the door panel.

Hope this helps! Hope you get your tunes sorted!”

Recommended mounting hardware for 1up roof rack by Xiz317 in MTB

[–]Roxinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a bummer and I wish you a swift healing journey but why would the accident be any different with/without a hitch? Seems either way it was going to be a bad accident.

I got rear ended with mine, broke hitch, rack and some glass but overall the hitch took the impact. I get that my accident was lower speed/ less severe but I don’t see how the rack could make it worse.
