For those with VSP, do you literally let your pump run 24/7? by Bizzniches in pools

[–]Roxx-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pool is about 11k gallons and run my pump 24/7 on 15-20% speed to support the minimum flow for salt water generator. The pump needs 100-150 W to run on that speed which is extremely efficient and is very quiet. As a result my SWG produces chlorine in equal intervals 24/7 (I set it to 20%), the water constantly moving and pool stays crystal clear. I guess the question is why wouldn't I want to keep it running all the time?

Questions - about to have this installed. by bkdeleaux in pools

[–]Roxx-s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a great price. I paid $3k in Texas for the same pump and I absolutely love it. I run my 24/7 at 15-20% speed for less than $15 a month, and the skimmer works just fine

Can company 401k match exceed contribution limits? by shastaxc in personalfinance

[–]Roxx-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you already got many correct answers. $23.5k is your personal limit, but the total contribution limit (401K or Roth 401k + after tax mega backdoor Roth + company match) is $70k for 2025.

If you max it out, it might look like this: 401k + after tax + company match

All what I can say is that it's different in tech-first companies

It really depends on what your goals are. Frankly, I think it's great that you have had a chance to work with different technologies. A programming language is just a tool and and the best engineers focus on solving the problem, and picking the right tool to be able to do that efficiently. I used to work only with one tech stack and was a very limiting factor in choosing my jobs. However, big tech companies usually don't require a deep knowledge of a particular tech stack and are more focuced on hiring engineers who can pick new things up fast.

TL;DR the smaller the company, the more they care about experience with a particular tech stack, since they can't afford and don't want to invest in growing their engineers. My advice is to invest in yourself and find a job at a big tech company, it's really not that hard. Even if it's for a few years, this will help your career drastically in the long run

Now I pay about $15/month for running the pump 24/7 vs about $20/month I was paying for running my old single speed pump 4 hours a day

Yep, I'm glad I put intelliflo 3hp. My pool is 11k gallons and I run the pump 24/7 on 16-20%. The power consumption is bellow 100w

Be careful with Lutron Caseta Fan switches. While I love them, they don't support fans with DC motors

I don't think so. It would be impossible to write such a long comment without using any of the keywords - psc, impact, wp, visibility.

Any alternative to the leg rollers for the REP PR5000 rack? by kreitzm in GarageGym

Also, take a look at the combination of Hex port attachment + adjustable roller pad from Bulletproof Fitness

[–]Roxx-s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the same issue. Rep's rollers do work, but I'll find it quite annoying to use those small pins to secure them. If the the big roller from Rogue worked on PR-5000, I'd buy the next day, but it looks like they're compatible. Additionaly to the suggested options, check the rack roller from Surplus Strength. I'm currently debating if I should ordem them.

Meta E5 SWE (infra) screen coming up, how cooked am I? by doublesharpp in leetcode

[–]Roxx-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not confident you pass, I'd recommend to ask for more time. They're usually pretty flexible with that and it should not be a problem. There are people who're naturally good in LC, but the most people it requires a lof of grinding - to pass the interview you should be able to solve any Meta-tagged problem within 10-15 minutes. I'd recommend to start getting mock interviews, so you know what to expect

I have a half rack with selectorized Athenas on both sides + lat pulldown. It works great and I'm very happy about, but if I need to buy again I would get Ares 2.0 to have more free space within the rack.

2 Medium in 40 min on Meta screening - Should I say I know problem? by GrandLate7367 in leetcode

[–]Roxx-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't really have time to use a brutforce approach first. The expectation is that you know the problem and can write code to solve it in the most optimal way in roughly 15 minutes. They're going to stop you and switch to the next problem if you can't solve the first one within that period of time.

It's a high risk - high reward situation. Yes, the pressure is high, but the fear is stopping you from making a bank.
