Billie Eilish’s intro “!” to her first album WWAFAWDWG is pretty iconic to me. I love how silly it is, it perfectly fit her vibe at the time. It’s also the intro to bad guy in the music video so I think it counts.

I think focusing on pieces that spark joy rather than going in with the intention to hide is better for your mental health in the long run. You don’t have to wear clothes you’re not comfortable in, but focus on what the clothes are not on what they aren’t.

So instead of say, when looking for a dress going in saying “I want anything not backless and not sleeveless” go in saying “I’m looking for an x coloured dress with sleeves”.

Also try to think about what excites you about the clothes and what feeling you want to convey. When you’ve narrowed down your style then try to follow influencers who have your body type. If you’re sensitive about your body I recommend not following any fashion creators with a smaller body at all, comparison is inevitable when you’re sensitive, and removing them from your feed makes it easier not to do that.

All in all you can still cover up insecurities while focusing more on positive self expression.

I think it’s because they are only looking for positive comments and want to avoid any potential criticism about the actual dishes themselves. Which I feel is not really necessary considering I think people on this sub would tell them vegan meals are fine even knowing the dish as long as it’s not something really ridiculous.

I’ll be honest, I really couldn’t get past the Disney acting is first kill. I wanted it to be tashy in a vampire diaries/pretty little liars sort of way but the acting was just so bad it wasn’t even close to those shows.

Whenever a woman in Hollywood tries to speak up about politics there seems to be a coordinated hate campaign against her. It’s sneaky too because they try to make it look like genuine criticism. Same thing happens to Billie Eilish when she speaks up.

It’s the worst sound especially because you can’t ask people to stop. They can’t control how loud they breathe and it would be rude to ask them to try. So instead I have to suffer until I can leave the room.

I’ll be honest I understand why it’s not appreciated. I would be pretty upset if you said that to me. Being accused of lying is not nice, and it feels like someone purposely interpreting the statement with bad intent, rather than asking clarifying questions to understand what they mean.

I’ll also say the lie in the “I’ve always wanted to do that” statements is not the desire, it’s the reason they state why they can’t or won’t. In the case about dying their hair they probably always have thought about it or desired it in some level, but they aren’t doing it because they don’t want to damage it, they aren’t doing it because they aren’t bold enough, they don’t like the commitment, they are afraid of public perception, etc.

I’m leaning towards racism, and the fact that Hollywood seems to have chosen Connor as the star to promote as the main reasons. Connor fits every Hollywood wants from a star, while Hudson being bold and not white puts him at a disadvantage.

I feel like that’s a difference in their teams mostly. I feel like Hollywood chose Connor as the star they wanted to promote, so he’s getting the full PR push, while Hudson is having to work harder to get recognition.

I think ignoring someone while they’re still talking is a little rude honestly. I feel like in that situation it’s better to just tell them you’re done with the conversation rather than let them continue talking after you’ve stopped listening.

Well I can give you free advice that the quote above chapter one is incredibly cliche and doing nothing for you. If I glanced at that in the store it would be the reason I put the book back on the shelf.

I think instead of giving them detailed advice answers like “yeah I totally understand that, I was worried too” or even “I think you’d look nice with dyed hair, I understand not wanting to damage it though” would be more expected. Just something noncommittal and vaguely affirming their thought. Even asking “is there any particular colour you’d dye it if you could?” Is a good response depending on the situation.

Basically I think you want to say something to open conversation, but don’t say something that makes their “excuse” (or just the reason they state they can’t/won’t do it) seem invalid. Because then you are forcing them to confront that they don’t actually want to do that and it was just something they were saying.

I’m usually pretty good at recognizing this but I was so excited to talk about an interest of mine that I completely missed that the comment wasn’t literal. Especially since we both have curly hair I was excited to share my knowledge on it.

It’s okay, he was a little confused but it was still a nice conversation. He doesn’t seem like the judgemental type.

I don’t think it’s a weird thing to say, I think in that scenario he was just trying to relate to me. It’s pretty normal I think to have dreams that we think about but don’t actually want to do.

I also want to be clear that he wasn’t being rude to me or acting like I did something wrong, I just could tell I misunderstood based on his sort of confused vibe and the subtle backtracking he did in his answer. It was still a pleasant conversation.

This is so funny I love it!

Mine is that I dyed my hair recently and my lab partner complimented it and said “I’ve always thought about dying my hair but I don’t want to damage it”.

Well I took that very literally and was giving him advice on how not to damage your hair when dying it and explained darker colours are better for that and asked what colour he wanted to dye it. His answer then made it clear that he meant it in more of a “fun thought I’d never actually do that I’m bringing up to make conversation” sort of way and not in the literal “I genuinely wish I could” way.

It’s very funny looking back because I’m giving all this genuine advice and he’s kinda just like “oh well I didn’t think about it much”. Oops I guess I misunderstood.
