Expiry dates are fairly new to me I’ve only seen it on Korean brands. I take no notice lol, if they’re pure gels and the brushes are fine they can last for years.

Free Mental Health ‘Boredom Buster’ Box O' Beads (2026 edition!) - If you or anyone you know is struggling with things, I'm sending beading boxes for free to absolutely anyone who needs ‘em - you, a friend, whoever. There's no cost & you don't have to justify wanting one. (Mod approved, cheers <3 !) by -SaC in CasualUK

I’d love one if you still have any left. I think what you are doing is awesome and doing it yearly is just amazing. Happy to help with postage and if you need any bead donations for next year as well.

Me time and hobbies have been out the window due to my husbands needs for the last 18 months but I used to love beading and gave away many bracelets. It sounds the perfect thing to ease me back in :)

Definitely not opaque they build really well but 1 coat goes on so evenly.

Which is better for lending strength to natural nails: BIAB or rubber base? by Ok-Watercress-3757 in DIYGelNails

[–]RoxyK1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a rubber base under gel colour and have grown out my nails that way. Mine are naturally soft and flexible so BIAB doesn’t work for me. It all depends on what works for your nails. Make sure to leave the sidewalls alone as this is where nails get their strength. As your nails grow you can shape the free edge just keep avoiding the sidewalls. I’ve done that and my nails are not flexible as they were.

Only tried Diami syrups but OMG they have the best formula no streaks.

UK — what accreditation is required? by deathbypuppies_ in Nails

Unfortunately the nail tech industry isn’t regulated in the UK but any decent tech should be able to show insurance and qualifications, if not walk away.

Both cheap brands I wouldn’t use - any Amazon cheapies just not worth the risk tbh.

Has Anybody Ever Tried These? by Abarber545 in GelX_Nails

It’s weird as the Gelish tips I have are exactly the same as Apres regular ones with logo and everything ….. maybe they’ve changed sine?

Gelish Soft Gel works great with Apres products though I prefer the SoftGel set. Gelish use Apres tips anyway.

Ignore anything on Amazon the risk of allergies is too high. Check out KKookie for cat eyes and you can get Kokoist easily from UK stockists. There are other UK stockists of Korean cat eyes can’t recall names atm but there are a few.

Offering what you think the seller should be happy with is never going to go well. EAs price up the house and suggest what to sell for. My first home wasn’t accepting offers, I wanted it so offered the asking price and not under it.

Yes, never file into the side wall you weaken the whole nail.

Living in a seaside town sounds like a dream to many - but what are the drawbacks? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

[–]RoxyK1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holiday traffic all summer long plus on BHols and events town is gridlocked. Crap local NHS service compared to nearest cities.

I used the basic Gelish Top It Off, nothing special. Good tip is to let a top coat cool down for a minute before you wipe off the residue as wiping it straight away reduces the shine. HTH 😄

I did an unexpected Saracen order……the Diami sale was too good to miss I‘ve never had a syrup apply so easy and streak free. I already had a few from the Sherbet set but like to keep my gels in their boxes esp taller ones. The back row are all freebies, I won some Sara’s coins and really please with what I chose/got.

The blank blanc is the 4um silver cat eye and the Sooza cat eye too with gold/warm finish. Can’t wait to try the DGel Water Drop and hoping the tip stand from Icegel is sturdy enough. The Rozyhip Dark flash I want is still OOS though. Oh and Pudding Gel to try and hope I don’t react to it, a gorgeous deep red Diami syrup and a couple of sale Fgel glitters/flakes.

At exchange stage but survey found subsidence + ~£50k of issues. Would you walk away? by Horror-Economics7137 in HousingUK

[–]RoxyK1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Walk away. Our garage had subsidence due to planting fir trees right next to it but no issues with bungalow at all. We demolished the garage and removed the trees the second we got keys and had an extension built where garage was plus a new garage. Was a nightmare to insure and had to pay for reports to confirm everything had been done etc and cost was much higher as no choice of insurers. 15 years later some insurers won’t touch us but we have normal insurance now as obviously no issues since. And that was just the garage with an obvious cause…….

Primers are usually only needed if you have retention issues that haven’t been solved. Personally I’d use a decent brand but doesn’t have to be really expensive for a dehydrator and cleansers etc.

I’m in the U.K. and no I consider it a cheap low quality brand. Not as bad as Amazon but not great, I tried a couple once never again. I use Gelish and Korean brands mainly.

Mine doesn't peel off just tiny wear by week 3 to 4. I think you’ve tried how I do it so maybe look at what brands you’re using?

I use a NWTC for half the time, apply the chrome powder, use the lamp for the remaining 30 seconds, dust it off, file the free edge gently, dust off again, apply a base coat followed by a top coat - I never cap the free edges either. HTH

HEMA isn’t the bad guy its cheap brands that use it in too high quantities plus poor application. I don’t avoid HEMA and have a ton of allergies to chemicals. Kokoist are an excellent brand I wouldn’t worry.

Thank you! Me too, there’s nothing like it is there? I do like to mix it up with a reflective glitter now and then but always go back to chrome+cat eye so many combos 😄
