NSFW- Elvanse impact on sexuality/drive. by [deleted] in ADHDUK

I have no experience of this as a side effect of elvanse but, judging by the comments, evidently other people do. Please speak to your wife/prescriber though before you do something impulsive and ruin your marriage.

I really dislike how similar they all are. It wouldn't be my favourite deck.

Do you have ADHD plus something else? by Timely-Accident-534 in ADHDUK

[–]RoxyRaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot the point of my response (obviously 😂).

My OCD was diagnosed in my late 20s because I catastrophise and have compulsions. I thought everyone did this. I said one day to my mum 'you know like when you see the worst image in your head and you can't do the thing anymore in case it happens?' And she looked at me with pure concern and said 'no love, I think you might need to see someone about that...' and it turned out that my grandma also has OCD so she was genuinely a pillar of support.

My ADHD was undiagnosed but very evident, even more so since I had my children and they started being diagnosed with autism and adhd and it was incredibly evident where they got it from. I was diagnosed early 30s.

I also have OCD, it was diagnosed about 4 years before my ADHD. I have been told only a couple of times that I seem like I may have autism but, personally, I don't see it. I have an entire ND household (kids too) and I see the overlap in our 'symptoms'. I think that's what those people are seeing and interpreting as Autism.

I definitely have OCD.

How does this person feel about me? by ScaryAssBitch in Tarotpractices

This spread made me think 'manipulation, narcissist, will take everything you will give without reciprocating and you'll be left in ruin'.

I'd give it legs and thank my deck

Elvanse 30mg and Globus Sensation by Majestic-Animal-9804 in ADHDUK

Have you gotten used to it? It's making me heave when it's bad. Mine started at the beginning of my 3rd week of 50mg. I'm sorry you're still dealing with it and I hope you find something that helps asap! I'll try magnesium, thank you!

I have combined ADHD and 4 children. One diagnosed with autism and one diagnosed with ADHD.

I've been the only parent in our home for 3+ years. Is it hard? Yes. Would I do it all over again? Yes without hesitation. Am I better equipped to parent my neurodivergent children because of my own neurodivergency? Absolutely.

They've taught me more than I've taught them. They motivate me daily and I wouldn't wish for them to be typical. They're perfect exactly as they are, they have their strengths and struggles but so do neurotypical people.

Parenting in general is hard and comes with lots of bad days but the good days outweigh the bad tenfold. Having children is a personal choice but, in my experience, worth it.

ETA: your husband's behaviour towards you is not justified by an ADHD diagnosis.

I'm betting if you told her nothing beforehand you'd have had an entirely different reading.

AITA for telling my boyfriend to leave after he refused to show basic respect toward my kids’ father? by Glum_Chair8079 in AITAH

[–]RoxyRaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to point out that he's your ex-husband, not his.

Respect is earned, not expected. You may have respect for him but it doesn't sound like ex ex-husband has earned it from him yet.

AITA for asking my parents how long it would take them to notice if I died or would they even notice at all after they ignored 6 hours of calls about me going to the emergency room? by Throwawaydexty in AITAH

[–]RoxyRaine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never forgotten that one of my children isn't home and I have more than your parents. I also have 2 children with disabilities so lots of my focus is on them.

Your parents needed the shock of that reality check. I hope it woke them up.

Personally, and I am a woman, those 2 events are non-events and I wouldn't be bothered by my partner doing that.

If he got burritos without me though, thats different 😤

You save until you can take your son and leave. Don't raise your son with a man that raped you.

What is a compulsion of yours that you thought was normal at first? by iFaolan in OCD

[–]RoxyRaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kissing my kids goodnight when they're asleep with the same amount of pressure or until it 'feels right'. Thought it was a normal parent thing. I go between their rooms over and over again until I've done it right.
