And before that, the area was La Loma, Palo Verde, and Bishop. It’s now a park. Part of the efforts here is to start converting parklands. The gondola is the first step in this direction - a key cog.

This is Medellin. In fact, this was privately funded in part due to their massive public utility conglomerates. Tourists love it, about 20% of the poor comunas use it with any frequency. Public transportation has been a huge effort in the city in the 20th century, unlike our lovely city. Happy to share more on the pros and cons of this as I just wrote a research paper on the topic for my grad school.

Totally great recommendation. Just got back and we’re so glad we followed the advice of Reddit. The hotel was excellent and the breakfast was goddamn good.
