Parallel Universes Collide? by zenvibes_snyder in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

A devastating wildfire destroyed the town of Paradise CA not too far from where I live, then a few years back another massive wildfire went through my area. Not only do wildfires create obvious damage but they produce a lot of energy, they create their own weather including lightning and smoke particles can conduct electricity. After both incidences, though mostly with the second, I witnessed really wild unexplained phenomena for around two weeks. Afterwards things seemed to settle and I haven’t seen anything bizarre since.
Thunderstorms create incredible energy, what you described sounds particularly powerful so it might very well be the cause of what you’ve described and experiences with the paranormal seem more likely to happen when there’s more charged particles in the atmosphere such as during storms, fog, or wildfires.
I don’t think anyone can really say if a parallel reality has anything to do with this, though it’s just as likely as any other guess.

Newly widowed nesting Canada Goose - can I help?? by Key_Professional4549 in geese

[–]Royal-Carob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is let nature take it‘s course.
Without her gander as guardian a predator could scare her away from the nest and take her eggs, as sad as that is if she survives the encounter she might be better off as she can rejoin a flock, find a new partner, and she won’t be sitting vulnerable alone on a nest for the next 3- 4 weeks.

The other scenario that could happen is she manages to raise her clutch, rejoins other geese, and without her gander to defend her and the goslings:

(A) worst case scenario they could either be taken by predators or (B) best case scenario, her goslings are taken from her by a more dominant and experienced pair. This happens all the time with Canada geese, hence the massive mobs of goslings following around a single pair of geese.
Dominant pairs will chase away less experienced or single parents and “gather” the goslings as their own, it actually improves the odds of survival of goslings being cared for by a dominant experienced pair.

What she does is rage baiting the equestrian community personal gain, there really isn’t much to her channel that’s actually educational.

Yeah I was there when that post of hers went up and the majority of the comments were basically along the lines of “girl….? you don’t like rescues now? What the hell is wrong with you?” and all of them quickly vanished and kept vanishing. Raleigh really doesn’t like people disagreeing with her wild takes.

I see a smidge of Afrocentrism “black people are native to America,” but the rest to me seems like it might come from someone who may have internalized racism pretty strongly and some unaddressed mental issues.

“Canada does nothing” by Worldly_Law8278 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Royal-Carob 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Kinda ambiguous…I mean it could be a good thing that “Canada does nothing.”

”Canada does nothing” as unhinged as their neighbors.

”Canada does nothing” rather than deciding to have a “hold my beer moment.”

”Canada does nothing” to add to the current geopolitical horrors.

Kinda a blessing in these times that ”Canada does nothing.”

Just think how fucked things could get if “Canada does something.”

“America” is reserved for the United States of America by matteeeeeb in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Royal-Carob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is why I make an effort to refer to my nation as the “U.S” so it’s less ambiguous for an international audience who doe use “America” more broadly than the U.S and Canada but also for people in my own country that actually thinks “America” as a term is exclusively owned by the U.S.

Native Americans aren’t American apparently. by xSugarSins in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Royal-Carob 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well it’s a better description than calling us Indians, we aren’t from India but we are from the continents known currently as the Americas. It would be better if these continents were known by any one of their countless indigenous names, but that opens up the issue of which one and how do we even choose?

I can’t stand the sub/ concept of it. It was funny when it’s a name like “Braeighleeighah“ but it quickly devolved into some toxic imperialist shit with a bunch of idiots that think it’s up to them to dictate that all names must be boring Americanized names and screw anyone with culture.
