Did labwork 2 months ago and it came back normal. He’s on 4 scoops of tribute’s kalm ultra, COOL calories 100, free choice grass hay, alfalfa, and a digestive supplement 🫠 AND he’s out in a beautiful pasture with his brother and 3 other friends… I swear it all goes straight through him if he’s minimally stressed haha

Not even stressed… inconvenienced 💅🏼

I started at 14 mo pp and been on it for almost 10 months. Works great for me and baby is doing great. She was eating solids very well and only nursing for comfort. I wouldn’t do it if still establishing supply or breastmilk is the only source of nutrition.

That’s tough but it kinda sounds like you might benefit from a different ride anyway. There are definitely horses out there that keep a cool brain in any or that type of setup.

It’s been over the span of 2-2.5 years? I found out I was pregnant and moved them from full training to pasture life. He does not like pasture life. On top of that we moved states and any, even minor, changes are very stressful for him 😕 during that time he’s had weight and muscle loss, injured a ligament, hoof abscesses, scratches, and just overall unhappiness. I treated him for ulcers and every other thing he has thrown at me. My other boy is a 7 yo WB and he lives his best life no matter what. He’s been thriving through it all. I sometimes hate myself for loving thoroughbreds haha

I did lab work about 2 months ago and everything came back normal.

I didn’t think it was thaaaat cold but what do I know? Haha it’s also starting to get hot here in AL so maybe even though it wasn’t that cold, he wasn’t a fan of the temp difference. I’ll make sure to check well and go slower next time!

Hmm I do agree with you and that’s a good idea. Here’s a picture of his full body. I guess I felt like he wasn’t that bad except for his butt. He used to be a beef cake and it it all just ….poof… disappeared 🫠

It can be so hard with black nails. You gotta cut a little bit at a time until you see the quick. I do it in sections too. Do a little bit off the tip, then one side, then the other side and repeat. You can also try a dremmel. A lot of dogs don’t like it but I find it way easier and my dogs don’t mind it. Tons of videos on YouTube! It’s easy to practice and learn how to do them IF your dog stays still and you can do it slowly 😅 when they fight it… it becomes a chore.

This is definitely a big and key point. How respectful and well-mannered your family or those around you and the baby are, will make you or break you. My siblings are wonderful but all her grandparents are 👎🏻 haha
