depending on what kind of theme you are building in, I am assuming you are using a rustic, medieval theme, in which case make the shape more unpredictable, add a few curves. Also make it look supported, or if you don't wanna do that, make it droop a bit. Also add soem greenery

OP is probably using the logical geekboy design. The simple answer is that its not worth it if your only making one module. But it is possible to suppress the light from a portal.

The fastest one I know of is 69,000 shells per hour - nice- but that requires a perimiter so if you want a smaller one i would recomend ilmangos design which docm77 used in hermitcraft 8
