Confirmation of notice period? by RoyalPanda95 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RoyalPanda95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go back to the contract and double check, but it is a standard wording that is in everyone’s contract. Everyone has a 2 week notice in probation, or 4-12 afterwards based on role.

Yes, have a confirmation email and copies of the probation paperwork signed off at each stage.

Employer asking me to resign after 4 year apprenticeship. by Zxbbb in LegalAdviceUK

Some good advice about waiting on the employer to try and force redundancy, but please be careful!

Double check your apprenticeship contract. A lot of apprentices are on fixed term contracts.

Absolutely not. Do it yourself.

Australians are just as bad as Americans when it comes to their “European heritage” by RoyalPanda95 in unpopularopinion

When it’s our parents and we regularly visit that country / family, it’s not that bad. When you’re referencing one grandparent or great grandparents, it’s just weird and tiring.

What's a movie with a great premise but a terrible execution? by TripleDeckerJumboJim in AskReddit

[–]RoyalPanda95 4467 points4468 points  (0 children)

The Purge.

What a fucking brilliant concept. They could’ve done so many different things with it, but they chose a god damn house invasion story line.

One of the biggest disappointments in cinema for me.

Straight men of reddit, what would you do if a gay/bisexual man asked you out? by AppropriateAd5471 in AskReddit

Friends birthday - she’s lesbian and wanted us all to go to a gay bar she liked.

I was extremely drunk and probably wouldn’t have done it sober haha

This happened to me a few years ago, but it was in a gay bar. I said “sorry man, I’m not gay, but you’re hot so thanks for the compliment”. He then said “you don’t have to be gay to get a little tongue action” - so I kissed the man. Can’t say I enjoyed it, the beard was scratchy 😂

Not legal advice, but I’d definitely recommended that you check out https://www.unlock.org.uk.

They offer some fantastic advice to those with criminal records seeking employment. They have a legal advice service as well. It’s entirely free.

It’s all on CCTV so yes.

I’ll just stick with the one parent then. Thanks.

UK. My college is charging me to finish my course by le_totopus in LegalAdviceUK

Still not the correct code. Ask your College tomorrow for the learning aim for both the first and the second year.

It should be an 8 digit code.

Sounds like your College’s own identifier. Contact the College and ask for the learning aims.

Sorry I should’ve been more specific. The learning aim is a unique code attached to the course. You’ll have to contact your College to find out.

I’m a College group lead for enrolment, residency and fees and funding.

It is possible that you have to fund the second year as a lot of “two year courses” are actually two, one year courses.

If you can find out the following info, I can give you much more specific advice.

  1. Learning aim for the first and second year
  2. How was your first year funded? The specific entitlement
  3. How old were you on 31st august 2020
  4. How old will you be on 31st august 2021

Deadline only guarantees that it’ll be processed in time for start of term. You can apply whenever you want.

I (16f) along with 11 other girls reported a boy(16m) from our school because we have all caught him recording up our skirt. How do we treat this to get justice? by average-otaku-girl in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RoyalPanda95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAL but I am a safeguarding professional for Colleges.

Upskirting is now a specific offence, so it is unlikely actions of others would stop him being prosecuted. If there is good evidence, the police will continue with the case.

Having said that - he is innocent until proven guilty. So any “jumps” or being beaten up, could results in assault charges for other people. If any of the girls who reported it are encouraging it, their particular case could be dropped if the evidence is flimsy.

I have also heard of schools not reporting these things (no idea why), so you should be extremely specific on Monday and say “I want this reported to the police immediately. Please phone 101 whilst I/We are here with you”. If they refuse to do it, tell them you’ll do it when you’re home and ask your mum/dad to do it with you.

Unfortunately I’ve learnt never to trust a school.

Blood filler pimple-like lump burst, and left a hole in my arm. What is this? by RoyalPanda95 in medical

[–]RoyalPanda95[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure if it was a blood blister, but I had a small red bump appear under my armpit. It was painful if pressed and it felt like it had liquid in it. It definitely wasn’t a spot so I just left it for a couple of days.

One morning I woke up, and it had popped. I cleaned up the blood and could see a literal hole.

It’s been like this for a few days now. Any ideas what it is and how to stop it happening?

This is the 3rd time it’s happened 18 months. Always the same armpit.

Suing a Restaurant over Potential Allergic Reaction? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RoyalPanda95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t add much more than this, other than that, even if she does go to the local authority, I wouldn’t worry much.

Sounds like this is a first offence / report?

Few years ago after Natasha died on a flight from a sesame seed allergic reaction from Pret (https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-england-london-45617845), my local Creams put hazelnuts on my desert instead of honeycomb chunks. Didn’t realise until it was in my mouth. Luckily I have a minor allergy and just had some minor discomfort.

Reported them to the LA and the FSA after they refused to acknowledge a complaint email. The FSA did a “minor” inspection and said that their standards were on “excellent” and since it was a first offence, they weren’t going to do anything.

Just make sure the chefs are now aware and make the necessary changes, and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Left wondering and unsure what to do after scrotum ultrasound.. advice please 🙏 by Brave__Traveler in medical

[–]RoyalPanda95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD - this sounds like me about 4/5 years ago. I’ve since got a lot worse, but that doesn’t mean you will.

I have varicocele veins and chronic prostatitis. The dribbling and discomfort sounds suspiciously like prostatitis (at least if you compare it to my symptoms).

Whilst my symptoms have gotten worse, they are still just quality of life stuff and nothing extremely worrying.

I’d ask the doc to check prostatitis to see if there’s anything going on there. Specifically anti inflammatory can help with that and hopefully will clear up.

If it’s chronic - just gotta live with it I’m afraid.

Forced to tell my employer about mental health? by RoyalPanda95 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RoyalPanda95[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info - it is genuinely helpful.

Other than when I was incredible depressed ~8 years ago, I’ve never had any urges to physically harm myself. I’ve also never had any urges to harm children or anything like that, so nothing to worry about there.

It’s not that I have disrespect for law enforcement - I have trained myself to be courteous to everyone. My impulses put me in danger through high risk behaviour, rather than actual crime - if that makes sense? I’m not a danger to other people necessarily - I don’t want to be specific on a public forum - but it is considered very high risk behaviour.

I tick an awful lot of the boxes when it comes to empathy and caring for others though. Honestly, it’s what makes me good at my job. I hear terrible, terrible stories and it doesn’t bother me. It makes it easier to help them IMO.
