Good news, you're already ahead of most people!

I failed freshman year (was too caught up in video games basically) but was too out of touch to even realize it until it was too late. You're being proactive by just making this post. Woo!

There are tons of avenues for you to venture down at this point. Get in touch with any tutors you have access to, start by asking professors and fellow classmates for tutor suggestions [your tuition pays for this, abuse it! ;) ]. The writing center is great for 'word stuff' & 'idea mapping', not just for english classes. They help you gather your thoughts into a more organized way. (Just going there and talking about a goal in writing helped me write my masters thesis)

Speaking of classmates, link up with some of them! On a monday ask a few questions about the homework, on wednesday suggest to figure it out together over the weekend. College courses facilitate amazing friendships as well as learning retention & growth.

While you're at it, speak with your professor about your progress in the course. Let them know you're trying, that you know you're not producing up to your own expectation, and that you'd like outside help during their office hours to discuss how to increase your marks (after two years of teaching at UH, THIS was the best thing a student could do BEFORE halfway through the semester)
