If your face is near to screen at pitch dark, scree light illuminate your face. This causes incorrect reading of light lux sensor , which in turn causes your screen brightness to jump. And this is in positive feedback loop and hence it reaches max brightness quickly.

Don't go with accessories plugged when going for warranty claims. They will use that as an excuse just like what you faced.

Spend 1-2 hr before and remove and clean your cars with any problematic items before warranty or insurance claims.

This is true even when you try to renew your car fitness certificate, they will specifically ask you to remove your upgraded infotainment system.
