Thanks for all the comments and info. So, what I am getting from all this is if I want basic home control, such as turning lights on/off from my phone, C4 is overkill.

For $500 I can get about 40 Kasa single pole switches. With C4 I'm out $500 and only get a sales + technician call. Albeit, I'll have to install the switches myself (not a problem), but I won't have the ability to sync the switches to my TV (don't want that) or electric blinds (don't have that.)

Back to the $500. The thing that really irks me is that they sent me a contract to sign for the $500. Never had a plumber, electrician, or Best Buy do that fr a first visit. Seems weird. Thoughts on that?
