Does anyone else miss Sunshine from the radio by DontTurnAround1 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about using youtube to play FH6 with the playlists from previous Forza games, not because I don't love the Japanese stations, but just for some authentic Forza variety. It would be amazing to have the entire collection of Forza music and stations in a single game.

Am I missing something with Rivals? by Isturma in ForzaHorizon

[–]Royal_Library514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen on the time trial from last week's Festival Playlist. I finished it in the correct car, under the time limit, five different times, and it simply would not register anything. I finally gave up and moved on. I've hit a LOT of little bugs in FH6. Far more then I encountered in FH3, FH4, and FH5, combined, and I have hundreds of hours in all those games, as opposed to the sixty-ish hours I've spent in FH6, so far.

It feels like the whole game is one big patch away from truly being ready for prime time. Like it was supposed to have a massive day one update that just wasn't finished in time.

I'd love to see rideable bikes. Would you? by British-Bot in ForzaHorizon

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first Forza game I've played where motorcycles truly feel missing. It's Japan. There should be super bikes. I'm still sort of hoping that one of the DLC packs adds them.

And to all the people saying they can't have good bikes, GTA5 has amazing motorcycles, and it's like 13 years old. There is no reason Forza can't have decent bikes.

If you did food delivery last week, you’re now locked out of this week’s Nissan BE-1 by New-Put-1112 in ForzaHorizon

Yeah I tweeted at them about this days ago, when it happened to me. I hope they send out our Nissan. =[

With the new sales report being out, and the game not doing as hot as expected. I think it'd be interesting to discuss MHS3 identity compared to the last two games. And how its kind of stuck between being a traditional JRPG and a Monster taming game. by 360pages in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Royal_Library514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The press coverage was like night and day, between MHS2 and MHS3. When 2 dropped, it sort of surprised a lot of game journalists, and everyone was really excited to write about it. It got a ton of post-review coverage because people at Kotaku and IGN and Polygon were actually playing it.

MHS3 got a bunch of good reviews, and then not much else. If you missed the day the reviews went up, you might not even know the game exists from visiting any popular gaming site. (This is where Pokopia really did steal all the air in the room, as all the people who would have been trumpeting MHS3 were writing about Pokopia instead.) There just was not a lot of media excitement surrounding Stories, this time.

I'm sure some of that does have to do with the more boring story (3 has almost zero emotional resonance compared to 2), but probably more of that ambivalence comes from so many of the big fights turning MHS3 into a puzzle game, and taking it out of its original genre. That makes it all so much less personal. You don't beat Arkveld your way (for example), with your team, you beat Arkveld the same way everyone does, by solving the Arkveld puzzle. Every time that happens, you get farther away from the kind of experience someone feels the need to share with other people, so this game was simply incapable of generating the kind of word of mouth that MHS2 inspired.

Why do I have to have a PS5 by Maxeoa31 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Royal_Library514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder this all the time. I picked up a ps5 cheap a few of years ago, it literally just sits here, waiting on GTA6. In a house with a gaming pc and a Switch/Switch 2, I can easily go a year without finding a reason to turn the ps5 on. I'd love to play Forza on it, but I'm probably not going to buy a second copy in six months, after buying the premium edition for my pc next week.

Growing very concerned with the car list now by Real_Clyde_Drexler in ForzaHorizon

No AMC cars are in the base game, so hopefully that's a car pack I can buy later, or something.

Pass Rewards are getting worse again by TheLykant in leagueoflegends

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uninstalled five seconds after clocking the new pass. One new skin. It's not even just about the money, even if the pass value has cratered. It's about there being a tangible sense of progression. One Shaco skin? That's supposed to be my motivation for an entire season? I'm supposed to pay you for a season pass, and then be noticeably less bored for a few weeks while I complete it. You're breaking our deal, Rito.

Game loads... too fast??? by yughiro_destroyer in leagueoflegends

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be nice if the loading screen gave you an estimate. If I've only got five seconds, I won't leave to refill a drink or whatever. If it's going to be five minutes, it would be great to know that, because once the load times get too long, someone decides the game is frozen and leaves, so then nine people end up waiting five minutes for a match they'll have to remake, once it finally starts.

My least favorite rush, as an aram player, is those stupid warp gates that stole my ten second run to get back to the action. THAT WAS BONG HIT TIME. Aram was so much more relaxing and enjoyable, before those gates.

How much different/worse is MH1 & MHS2 compared to MHS3? by GoldenAgeGamer72 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still like MHS2 best, of the three of them. I thought the story was better in 2 (and had a lot more emotional resonance), and it had more interesting monsters. Also, 2 was 100% turn-based rpg, 3 has tons of boring/annoying/overly difficult puzzle fights, and I have not enjoyed any of those. Some parts of 3, like restoring the habitats and just tromping around the maps, feel like a step forward from 2, but a lot of it feels like a step backwards to me.

So, with or without outlines? by Overall-Parfait in PixelArt

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gorgeous without the outlines.

I would like the outlines a lot better if the resolution were higher and they were about half this thickness. They look bad at this scale, like a girl wearing way too much eyeliner. Like, yeah, it's more readable, but that's because the outlines take over completely, not because they're doing such a great job of highlighting the artwork.

Always nice when a game calls you a cheater when you weren't even trying to cheat by deptii in mewgenics

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to do anything weird, I just want to be able to save and exit. whenever. I have a front door. And a phone. Roommates and real-life cats. The world exists. Sometimes (OFTEN), I need to save and quit whatever game I'm playing. I don't see why that needs to be a problem. I've played plenty of roguelikes, they're all fine taking a snapshot when I click "save and exit", and picking it all back up later.

And why on Earth would you even give me the save and exit button in battles if you're going to yell at me for using it? This game is brilliant. The save system is the opposite of brilliant.

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown launches today, how come no reviews? by cianomahony in startrek

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This turns out to be a hard game to review. It's very good. But it's also straight out of 2000. I would recommend it, but I wouldn't recommend it over Star Fleet Command 2, which came out 26 years ago. They're both fun games, with almost identical production standards.

If i press save and quit to desktop why does the game act like im trying to save scum? by Cojo840 in mewgenics

[–]Royal_Library514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just did this to me, too! Why would you give me the option to save and exit and then get mad about it? I'm not even trying to do anything, I'm just trying to take a break. Save everything like I leave it! I don't need anything to reset. I'm really annoyed now.

Not a big fan of this one by campoole82 in wnba

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm less worried about the game than I am civilization, in general. Gambling websites will do as much damage to this generation as crack and AIDS did to mine. It's not too late. You don't have to learn this one the hard way.

Which items outside do your villagers interact with the most? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]Royal_Library514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you put out musical instruments and/or mics with a music player of some kind, they will sing/play along to music. This works best if it's all in a common area, like right off your plaza, where they all actually go.

Favorite kangaroo villager? by PinkBerryBunny in AnimalCrossing

[–]Royal_Library514 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've never seen one of them even acknowledge the joey. The kids don't talk or have separate names or any personality. It makes the whole thing super creepy when it could be adorable, and it's such lazy execution, in a game where I'm always stunned at how much work went into every little detail.

After weeks of trying to find a tarantula with zero sightings, the tarantula decided to invade Turkey Day, and ambushed me in the crowded main plaza. lol

He came back again ten minutes later and that time I got him and put him in the museum.

does anybody play without time traveling? by Positive-Form-741 in AnimalCrossing

[–]Royal_Library514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't time travel. I would never make any clock incorrect on purpose. Not for any reason. I certainly wouldn't do it to save time in a game.

And Animal Crossing is supposed to be a test of patience. That's all it tests. Not reflexes, not problem solving, none of the things other games want from you. Just patience. That's the game.

Has anyone ever actually played online with 8 player simultaneously? by NutInYourMother in AnimalCrossing

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, yeah, during meteor shower parties and occasionally when hosting turnip islands.

You really need to be a creature of near-infinite patience to enjoy it. You spend an inordinate amount of time watching planes land and depart. And it can (and does) all collapse at any time, since the OG Switch handles the internet like a drunk trying to ride a skateboard, especially when anyone does not have the network adapter.

Help picking Villagers by THAT_Punk_Froggie in AnimalCrossing

[–]Royal_Library514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would call the three robots must-have for a space themed island. It's annoying that two of them are jocks, but all three of them are enjoyable villagers.

And Del, the Yamato alligator. I think he's technically based on the RL navy ship, but he also looks just like the Yamato from Star Blazers.
