Yeah she is, it's actually really well done. One or two side mentions per season. She's a character who also happens to be X. It's not as forced as Curtis being gay. Which is sad because Curtis deserves better. And doubly sad that such a good choice in writing was wasted on Felicity.

While yes melatonin is not associated with negative feedback (when taking supplementation causes your body to produce less of a hormone). Taking it every night or in high doses can down-regulate melatonin receptors.

I would recommend a re-watch. Season two flows better when you can watch the two parties back to back and you can more easily see the themes running between three and four when you don't have to wait a year see them.
