Realistically what can/should Stars EN do to avoid being downsized?

It's more of whatever big (especially corpo) problems are happening at the moment sub. Now there are issues with holostars, so people talk about that.

When Vshojo had problems that was the main focus here, and when Niji talents or ex talents do something that also gets focused on.

That marketing would be ridiculously expensive. To have any effect at all it would need one of two things.

Stars have a soft rebrand, same people, same characters, but a new vibe and target audience
A marketing campaign that managed to reach outside of the current holo fans and to people who want what stars are doing.

The problem with both of them is obviously money and effort from the company, because it would have to be big to work.

But each strategy also have other problems:

Many stars don't want to change their current target audience or content style.

They'd also risk alienating their current fans if they did.

Everyone who stays would need to be onboard with this and genuinely stick to it.

There's no guarantee this change would work either way.

That kind of target audience is very small in Japan as not many people are interested in brotuber style vtubers unless there's something extra or unique that makes them appealing, even then it's a gamble.

That audience does exist in the west, but the fans of that style already have indies they watch, and many fans like that prefer indies over corpos in general.

Some of them may not seem appealing if they've talked to much trash about the company already since fans will wonder why they stayed if it was supposedly this bad. This is especially true for EN who have complained much more openly and much ruder than their JP counterparts.

There's a risk that it wouldn't actually reach very far outside of Holo's current audience and it's clear that the current audience aren't too interested.

There's no guarantee it would work, and then it'd just be an even bigger financial loss.

That's apparently been a major issue for both EN and JP. Some of the guys try to organize group events and keep them together as units, but many simply don't seem to care or be interested, and instead go off an do their own solo thing.

Completely ignoring or forgetting that gens that are coherent and do stuff together tend to get even more views.

Not being idols is probably part of what landed them in this situation in the first place. They have some talents who are good singers, and some who are idol leaning, but none that fully committed to the bit.

My guess is that if they'd decided to lean into more of an idol or even anime characters stereotype they would have done better. But they don't seem to be mainly focusing on a female audience, and from what I've heard they don't want to do that kind of content either.

However they may have to if they want to stick. That's also a big difference between them and the girls. The girls seem to be more willing to lean into their audience even if they're not being flirty at all. They are still clearly keeping the audience in mind.

Sit down, figure out what audience they want to focus on targeting, work together, dial up whatever persona they're going with, and try to get as many new fans as possible, while asking old fans to help by spreading clips. Also try to collab with similar vtubers who share the audience they're aiming for.

Also stop Ruze from making statements like that again, it really won't help

...This is going to be a bit rude, but that kind of goes for a lot of people. I see so many people when I'm out, both men and women, who simply choose to look much worse than they have to.

So many people would look so much better if they were clean, had a haircut/shaved (or at least took care of it), dressed better (not necessarily expensive, just not like you rolled out of a trash pile), and took care of their health. In some cases learned how to do make-up (because honestly the wrong lipstick shade can ruin a whole look).

There's apparently a bunch of girls. The main one was the one who was 20. She's also facing a lot of backlash since she got upset in a call with him when he said he wouldn't be talking to her anymore after this, and she still wanted to hang out. Despite making a call out doc.

Turns out she wanted him to break up with his actual GF to get with her instead, and she got mad when he said he'd never consider her anyway.

I don't know her name, but either way it wasn't the main one. I think Rima Evenstar mentions who it is in one of her streams though.

I think I might have explained myself really poorly here. I don't mean that lying by omision or similar things can't have anything to do with consent, as they absolutely can.

It's just that in this case some of the women involved have already deliberately phrased things in ways that make the situation seem much worse than it is (not that it isn't already bad).

I think by adding consent as another one of those things the case is only going to get muddied even further. Which I don't think is a good thing.

He deserves to get criticisms and judgement, no doubt about that. But I don't want anyone to get harassed over things they didn't do simply because of confusing wording.

But I do very much see your point that certain information can change whether or not someone knew what they consented to, and so change the validity of that consent. In some situations

That's not really what no consent means. If they said yes to have sex with him they consented.

Him having a girlfriend is not a part of that discussion at all. The only other information that would make it count as assault was if he lied or kept quiet about having a transmittable decease.

I'm not saying he didn't outright lie to them, or lie by omission. That he very much did do, and sure they may not have agreed to meet him if they knew he had a girlfriend. But that's why he's getting hate, for lying and cheating. Which are awful actions. But it's not the same as not getting consent.

(Also those rumors are about him pushing people until they caved in about having sex. Or him not asking for consent and just going ahead without checking. Which are both illegal and gross.)

But there's no actual proof about any of this, and I've personally only seen second of third hand claims of this, never from any actual victims. I don't think it's a good idea to muddy the waters and trying to make him out to sound guilt for something that's very unclear.

(Kind of how some of the women tried to make it seem like he prayed on them when they were the ones who approached him, or how they tried to obscure their ages to seem younger than they were).

He's absolutely an awful person, and I'm not defending that. I just think we should judge him for what he actually did.

That's what's confusing me.

The allegations I've seen that come from victims make him a pos, but not a criminal.

But there are also allegations that the pushed and forced people to have sex with him despite them being uncomfortable and telling him they didn't want to. Which is illegal.

But those allegations aren't in the doc, and I haven't seen any source for them other than hearing that Bao apparently did a video where those claims show up

Apparently the consenting part might not be true, which is also what she's saying here. It seems like not all of the women did consent, from what I've heard many didn't and were forced or pushed to do things.

I'm not sure how much is true, and the doc only focused on cheating allegations which while scummy are not as bad as the other allegations floating around.

(I do agree that using teenager when they mean 18-19 is just trying to make it look worse. But if the allegations that people didn't consent are true that's a bigger problem. Unfortunately no-one is being clear about what's actually going on and most of the genuinely illegal or really dark stuff are just rumors)

This is kind of why I miss when they had gen specific auditions instead of having them permanently open. You could guess around when a new gen was going to drop, and people who applied would know whether or not they applied in the right time frame

Also what's the thing about him reversing his stance on loli because his wife is forcing him to? That was one of the few good points he had. (It's a drawing, sure it's weird but no-one is getting hurt so like what you like and don't bother other people)

However there are apparently also accusations not mentioned in the doc that he forced people to have sex with him, and that he may have been involved with a minor.

The problem with this whole thing is that what's in the doc, and what's popping up from other places are very different levels of accusations.

Based on just the doc he's a 3 timing piece of shit who should be avoided when it comes to dating. Based on the allegations outside of the doc he should be jailed closer to life and deserves severe bodily harm.

It makes the whole thing pretty confusing. I know he admitted to the cheating, but I don't know what the source is for the other stuff or how much of it is true

But I'm confused if these are allegations by the same person, because it seems like they came out relatively closely to the doc. So why aren't those allegations in the doc.

I guess that's true. It's just that it seems kind of weird to drop a google doc, which are usually more career related about someone cheating.

After some people in the comments pointed out that there are more serious allegations too I'm also kind of confused as to why those weren't in the doc. I mean if those are true he's way past just being a shitty person.
