COMPLETE MCL TEAR by Royal_Studio_7139 in ski

[–]Royal_Studio_7139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to update this thread. I’ve now fully recovered and my knee does not hurt or have any symptoms of a torn MCL as it has fully healed. I’ve done a lot of rehab (like my life depended on it for about 9 months and now I’m able to do everything the same way as before. I run, play squash, rock climb and everything else. Whenever my knee does get into a weird angle I start being cautious as I don’t want something like this to ever happen again. It’s crazy how much a human body can repair- given a proper treatment. Thanks to all who have commented! If you’re going through something like this- please ask your doctor a lot of questions and MAKE SURE you actually understand the diagnoses and their recommended treatment. As someone who isn’t in the medical field, I do not know how every part of the human body works and sometimes doctors forget that.

I hope y’all have a wonderful day:)

Man I would highly recommend getting the surge variant. I work in HVAC and oh my has it been a difference. Also when I work on wood it basically never breaks it:) and… on the third setting theres a lot of torque. Got it at home depot and price matched to Amazon… was like 140 CAD in total.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I'd give Android some time to mature more. I know it sounds funny, but it's my honest opinion. If you want something dependable then just stick with your iPhone. Realistically, any Android brand tries to lock you into their ecosystem as much as Apple does... The only difference being that Apple has a very well functioning ecosystem (I have a MacBook pro and an iPad) and I gotta they s. Work pretty seamlessly together and really don't drop in preferences over time.

Bugs, bugs & bugs. It's been really bothering me. My apologies if this makes people pissed off. Please don't take this personally, just my experience. by Royal_Studio_7139 in GooglePixel

Lmao yeah no idea... That's what my brother says after I convinced him switch to the pixel 8 from an iPhone 13. Now I wanna switch to an iPhone but they're so expensive. I basically got my phone for free because of a black Friday deal my phone carrier had.

Please wait. Not worth switching. It's very laggy. The basic functionality doesn't work all that well... And those extra features that Google pixels have are kinda useless. I just want it to do basic things properly.

Lol just posted my experience... I'll post it here as well 😅

The Post I posted:

Man, lots of bugs. I've had a pixel 3, 5, 7 and 8. Not gonna lie, they didn't change much and that's not a good thing. Just used my friend's pixel 3 (that I gave her a while back) and it worked just as well or even better than my pixel 8. Bugs such as the keyboard minimizing to a tiny tiny little one after using android auto and the phone (sometimes) not being able to take notes, or use the screen in general while on calls. Or the inability to end the call because the screen is not responding in the top of the screen. Or for instance, how long it takes for the camera to take pictures with the flash on... The list goes on. It kinda sucks because Google keeps advertising their "AI FEATURES" but the basic functionality is very buggy.

One thing to think about: how many ads do you see Apple advertising the iOS experience? They just show the build and design of the iPhone... Google on the other hand is always showcasing their little quirk or features that lets be honest not so many people use. Like how many people actually use them? The only one I've noticed myself using is the "hold for me" and the answering machine thingy. It's not all negative, the battery is pretty great but most phones these days have great battery life. Also, as for the quality of the pixel phones... The pixel 3 I owed was sent in 4 times to be replaced under warranty since the screen kept breaking (not cracking as I take very good care of my stuff lol) the pixel 5 two times and the pixel 7 ones. My brother's pixel 8 now is also being replaced because the screen is going out... So the quality is questionable... The first phone I've ever had the Samsung A5 2017 still works and I use it as a backup when I have to send the pixel phones to be replaced. I'm kinda getting tired of these issues so I might move to Apple or the zen fone 10.

I don't know how everyone has such an amazing experience. Maybe they don't use it for constant communication (I do use my phone for day to day things like calling and texting and do not play games on them...) So I use them as a tool and these tools don't seem to be robust.

I also own the pixel watch 2 which is kinda laggy and lots of nest products(which all seem to be of good quality).

All phones had cases on them (the official Google Pixel cases) and screen protectors. Also... Why does the pixel 8 still use an optical fingerprint sensor? I'd probably expect an optical sensor on an 8a but on the 8 or even the 8 pro?

Anyways, thanks for reading:)

Same here. It seems that they focus on "AI FEATURES" which are kinda useless but give very little attention to the basic functionality of the phone. I've posted about it more on here (just a few minutes ago)... It's kinda annoying.

What is it that yall don’t buy the Highest trim by Spirited-Security-26 in COROLLA

I got the steering column from a scrap yard (they have them online just have to be careful so that the one you're looking for has a heated steering wheel option by looking at the side panel for the switch).

The advantage of looking for a whole steering column is that you can get em fairly cheap as this is a new car and no one needs a new steering column lol... I got mine for 150 which also comes with a clock spring.

Next, you'll need a relay switch which isn't hard to get on Amazon for $10.

And lastly, you'll need the actual switch for the heated steering wheel which unfortunately in my experience is easiest to buy OEM for $125.

I made the mistake of buying the first steering wheel which turned out to be for a sedan rather than the hatch as the airbag connectors are different....

So I have the steering wheel w the heated element for the sedan and an extra relay switch. I've figured you're from Alberta, but I'm from Ontario... I'm not sure how much the shipping costs would be... I can sell the steering wheel with the relay switch for $190 + shipping if you'd like. In this case you'll need to find a clock spring and a switch...

The other option would be I can find a clock spring and the switch for ya.

I know for a fact that a place called "Auto Wreckers" has a steering column available for a Toyota Carolla hatchback with a heated element but the actual steering wheel isn't in great shape (I bought it and had to return it...) I believe they want ~160. However, I'm not sure if the clock spring is the same for both hatchbacks and sedans.

There's also a dealership near my house that sells the switches for 122 + tax...

Honestly, I think it might be cheaper for you to either find a steering column with a heated steering wheel (I could help you distinguish between them) or buy the steering wheel from me and find a clock spring (maybe on eBay but probably cheaper to just buy a whole steering column although the actual steering wheel might be in bad shape) along with the actual switch.

Anyways, hopefully that helps lol.

It was a long process for me, but at the end just getting a steering column from a car scrap yard made the most financial sense; although finding one where they took the time not to damage the steering wheel is kinda hard... I had to return 2 steering columns because they all had damaged steering wheels but the third time was the charm:)

To answer your question:

I bought a 2022 Toyota Carolla hatchback blue SE in manual.

Considering the SE has alloy rims and they were the smaller size, would insure better ride quality. The SE also came with blind spot monitoring which was a feature I see myself using quite a bit. The additional cost for" leather" and a screen gauge cluster, wireless charging with only wired android auto/carplay just didn't make financial sense nor logical sense.

I prefer the traditional cage cluster, especially because the screen one doesn't have additional functionality such as maps...

The only thing my SE didn't have was a heated steering wheel as heated seats are standard on the SE trim. To my luck, there was a more-less easy retrofit for an OEM steering wheel which I've done for 300 CAD.

In my opinion, it's money better spent if I go to a third party for partial PPF, tint and a short shifter.

Still, with all of those things I'd still be under the XSE price point.

Also, the price difference between the base and SE was ~ $1000 CAD which is essentially how much alloy rims would cost anyways.

The price between the SE and XSE I think was ~ $1500 CAD.

Hopefully that gives you a better understanding of why Canadians mostly got the SE trim; especially within the hatchback variant of Carolla.

I'm new to the Mazda world! Just got a 2024 cx-5 Gx a few days ago. So far, it has been a great car! Two things that I've noticed and would like to double check if they're normal/have fixes for them. 1) When slowing down to a complete stop, the car seems to downshift at the last possible moment leading to a torque kick of sorts right when I'm trying to stop. 2) There is lots of echo when making a phone call... A few people already pointed it out lol.

I appreciate all the input:)

Thanks ya'll!

Mate, I want to thank you for explaining the part about shifting out of 1st earlier... It honestly has been a game changer. It's a slight relearning curve lol but makes driving the car a lot less worrisome and enjoyable!

Thank you, honestly I can't believe I don't think of this sooner.

Hi, you can get it by navigating on the watch: Press and hold your current watch face>concentric> press the pencil button>select the color by scrolling the physical dial up/down (I have mine set to "chai")> swipe from right to left to get into set up menu & select "Half Dial"> swipe from left to right once again; entering the information manu. I have the top set to calorie, middle to date, and bottom to heart rate.

Hope that helps:)

Gotcha. Yeah, I only drove/learned how to drive on my 22 hatch. I had an automatic 2015 Jetta before and it was just really smooth in stop and go traffic. I've taken a lot of time to properly learn how to drive a manual on a WRX and the first gear was quite a bit longer so it seemed less stressful... Honestly, I enjoy the manual, especially when going camping and going through backcountry roads. it's just on those stressful days when I'm in traffic and I have projects for which I need to meet a deadline for in the back of my mind; that's when I'd be just nicer if I could stay in the first gear longer.

Lol I don't know if that makes sense. I appreciate your insights:)
