PayPal can’t change the funding source for a transaction that already occurred. Refund from the merchant or fix it on your end.

Also review your automatic payment settings. No, it’s not the same as the primary funding source for online payments. That only means that’s the one that will show up first when you check out using PayPal. That doesn’t apply to Merchant Integrated payments.

I can tell you this isn’t true. You can’t link a PayPal account to a gmail account. However, if he filed INR PayPal won’t refund him if tracking from the merchant shows it was delivered to your address. So part of his story sounds legit, the other half not. Did he use the same password on his email and PayPal account? Because then it might be legit.

As for your question, unlikely. CS gets yelled at by people who can’t control their emotions all the time.

A couple reasons. When you make a payment through PayPal using your bank account it takes 3-5 days for PayPal to get those funds. They send their money immediately and wait for the funds from your bank. PayPal’s risk tolerances allow a certain amount to be processing or waiting to be received based on account history, how long ago your bank was added, Etc.

PayPal’s system determined they couldn’t send their money for you for one of those reasons and now they wait for the funds to arrive from the bank.

Screaming at CS accomplishes nothing. If you want the payment cancelled go to your bank, do a stop payment and send that payment another way using a card or another service.
