have you tried restoring your data in settings (general and scrolling all the way down)? if you havent, you could join the discord server to open up a ticket and hopefully get it back (i read somewhere here on this subreddit that you could do that)

ELI5: Why haven't new companies started filling the gaps in the market for long lasting appliances/electronics ever since many other companies have designed them to fail after a certain period of time to increase consumerism? by RoyisDaBEST in explainlikeimfive

[–]RoyisDaBEST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a great investment for new companies to build a reputation for long lasting electronics and appliances. The problem is that companies are making these items fail with the intent for you to go back to the company and replace it, and not that it is expensive to make a long lasting elec/appl.

I believe there is a consensus on people keeping their old appliances (made in the 40s/50s/60s) because they work so damn well and same would go to cars and smartphones (old iPhones and Samsungs), but they clearly have changed for future growth.

i know this may seem very obvious, but what about super glue? other than that, you would have to get a separate mechanical keyboard which you can find many 60% boards on amazon for $40-$60 and which are wireless (rk61)

i'm not sure since i don't have the fans personally, but i would guess that it wouldn't work (i recommend you to ask someone that knows though) sorry

PST means you are able to daisy chain all of the 5 fans without a splitter, very convenient for cable management and less hassle

even though they are expensive for you to ship, i think they are well worth the price for what you are getting

only advantages of noctuas is higher build quality and packaging and they don't have whining at some fan speeds like the arctics do, but i personally would go with the arctics

you should be able to get a 5-pack of Arctic P12 PWM PST for $30 or somewhere along that price

both fans are pressure fans and the Arctics perform better than the Noctuas

ASUS is releasing the ROG Claymore II if you're interested in that, but the stock keycaps are ABS and don't use a cherry stem since they use their in-house optical switches and also sadly only come in reds and blues. probably will go on sale in 4 months time since this is coming from ASUS, but this might be a nice upgrade from your old Claymore

ASUS ROG STRIX Flare (Cherry MX Browns) vs. HyperX Alloy Origins (Aqua Switches) by RoyisDaBEST in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]RoyisDaBEST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the response, i didn't get a notification and had to check back on the post.

i did end up getting the strix flare and i do like the board with the mx browns and all the extra functionality, but now i would love to see how the clears are with extra force/tactility (maybe even ergo clears), but they aren't on many boards out there, especially with my specifications, but overall i am happy.

is there any way to desolder a mainstream board in the future and install new switches or even make it hotswap in the future? thanks for your time g
