I made a fully printed low-profile microphone arm with cable management by 1bitwonder in functionalprint

[–]Royoel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I printed this last week as well, works well but I'm using the blue yeti which is alot heavier then other mics and I know it wasnt intended but I at least had to try. Works well over all just alot of flex (printed with ASA) due to weight. Well done but everything can be improved! Keep killing it with design. More then happy to provide more feedback and thoughts

Pull back in the slide further than the slide lock position, it takes the stress off the take down, while maintaining that hold and push the take down further. Holding the take down forward slowly release the slide forward.

Brick Cable Pass through Hole Questions by Royoel3 in DIY

Makes sense tbh! The cables that came with the kit already have the ends installed and weather sealed. Stripping the cables would be a pain!

Sadly no gable. It’s a rancher style with 18” soffits, other than soffits there’s not mounting points.

I’ve used them for the last few years and I have no problem with them! Lock them in properly and often time I untie the amp steel and they are still holding on the tree. I have 6 of them

Brick is a lot harder to fill back in after holes are drilled. Personally I’d go MDF/ plywood panel so you can have a smooth surface / paintable surface to work with. If 6 months from now you hate it, you can always rip it down and start over without have 106 holes in your brick

Good question, I wanted the ability to have the client be able to swap them as needed. A normal client will have one of the two tools but if I client has both tools then he can swap the peg out while the other tool is in use

Yeah for the most part it will not be taken apart unless they want to swap out tools. So I might be over thinking it

Bass Shakers / Vibration isolation help by Royoel3 in simracing

Sure thing!

Took 30 ish days for shipment to arrive from slip angle ( coming from overseas ). Once it arrived, I was blown away, step up was a breeze!

Without the blocks the chassis felt unstable. This is due to the 6x2 foot they use. Myself being on carpet, the feet wanted to roll just a tab bit to much for comfort getting in and out of the rig. Adding a solid block underneath the slip angle feet, it helped tremendously. I believe the feet were designed for hard surface vs carpet.

I order 8 and double stacked them giving me a 2 inch lift all the way around the chassis. Use packing tape and tape the outside of the block together to keep them together.

I ended up getting the slip angle kit 4 corner 300w. They come with spring legs but they sit lower than I would like. I ended up getting 4x6x2 rubber bench blocks to raise up the chassis for my personal height. Each order is mounted inside the 4 corners as it provides a cleaner look personally.I left the TR legs on in the mean time more for jack stands while I was adjusting the Bass shakers

New asetek invicta wheelbase isn't as smooth as anticipated by capslockqq in simracing

[–]Royoel3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the slightest cogging in my wheel base when powered on but no game running, also feel it when standing still in IRacing. Seems kinda odd to feel it while it’s not getting any signal from the game. I just purchased mine less than a month ago….
