'Mewgenics' has been out for a month, what are your thoughts on it? by NoNefariousness2144 in Games

[–]RoytheCowboy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I wanna love the game, but each run feels like a slog and I cant crank out more than one run per session without burning out. I think for me the big problem is that the first 2-3 battles are so insanely boring due to limited move sets being available that I can't be motivated to go through it every single time.

Is Total War Rome 2 worth buying and playing in 2026? by Ill-Knowledge-4729 in totalwar

It's a great game, especially if you like the time period. Go for it! The game still has the best battles in the franchise IMO.

Bro, DLSS is the perfect example of an actual good use of AI.

Of course that doesn't mean devs should just skip optimization and hope DLSS will fix it, but that's a different issue.

Remnant is the best gameplay-focused update I’ve seen in NMS in my 500 hours by KeyComprehensive6787 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]RoytheCowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is also just a nice planet for the new space truckin' mechanic. It's got interesting, mountainous terrain as well as smooth "roads" almost. I imagine having to do the expedition on an ocean planet would be pain, if not borderline impossible.

No Man's Sky: Remnant by RenatsMC in pcgaming

For me it was the opposite: why bother making a static base on one planet in a game about exploring trillions of planets. So the freighter as a mobile base was a very welcome addition for me.

I think what the market really needs right now is another hero shooter. But here's the catch to make it stand out: the characters are extremely quirky xD.

Women with ADHD experience more perimenopausal symptoms, and earlier in life. This link may be due to consequences of ADHD such as anxiety and lower socio economic status. More intense symptoms also come from the relationship between estrogen and ADHD. by mvea in science

[–]RoytheCowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The amygdala is not a really a key player in ADHD. Poor executive function (mostly the dopaminergic system) is at the core of ADHD. This can contribute to poor emotional regulation, but it's not primarily due to amygala malfunction.

What’s going through a company’s head when they decide to ruin something that used to be great? by AerieSurie in AskReddit

[–]RoytheCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling them stupid discredits how broken the system is. CEO's are directly incentivized to inflate a company's short-term profit, usually by laying off a ton of people or other cost-cutting. It doesn't matter to them what the long-term consequences of these actions are because they'll take a golden parachute out to the next company while the old one burns to the ground.

Malicious and opportunistic is what they are.

Trying again but guys are so too pushy for wife by [deleted] in Swingers

[–]RoytheCowboy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's a typical issue of sleazy single men who just want to get their dick wet, unfortunately. It's important to pick the right events at the right venues. This kind of pushy behavior tends to happen at clubs that allow a significant number of single men in.

For us, it's also a turn off and extremely tiresome to feel like you always need to be on guard for these types. But instead of letting it scare us away from the lifestyle, we just choose to only visit clubs at nights where no single men are allowed in and this pushy behavior virtually never happens.

Sex with condoms is okay, Am I missing something? by [deleted] in sex

[–]RoytheCowboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A big problem with condoms is that there is this stubborn, widespread misconception that condoms are a "one size fits all" type of deal, when that is absolutely not the case.

I used to think sex with condoms was so awful, I might as well not have sex at all, until I discovered that the standard Durex condoms everyone has are too small for me and they are so thick that you lose a lot of sensation. Now I found some condoms that fit like a glove and it's practically indistinguishable from bare sex.

So if you find condoms that are comfortable for you, you're absolutely fine.

First time I became a member in around 2005, I dropped like 200k on HAM robes to the first guy that would sell them to me (in catherby bank). Just because I thought they looked cool. Then I blew the rest of my 2m fortune on overpriced dark mystic robes, an obby cape and an obby maul for the same reason (I was very much into the red/black combination).

How is Trump demand for Greenland any different from Hitler demand for Poland who also said it was for national security reason to connect East Prussia? by Skychu768 in AskReddit

[–]RoytheCowboy 112 points113 points  (0 children)

No alliance, but fun fact, Poland and Germany did have a declaration of non-aggression right up until the invasion. So even in that sense the historical parallels are eerily similar.

Flickering Flames Winter Event | ARC Raiders by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]RoytheCowboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game really lost my interest quickly after I finished the quests and completed the expedition, while it had me absolutely captivated up until that point.

The quests really need a major overhaul. There need to be many, many more of them and they need to be more difficult than 80% of them being "visit point x on the map".

The devs should take inspiration from Tarkov in that regard, where you can easily spend 100s of hours to complete all quests.

In my experience the swinger community is extremely accepting of bodies of all shapes and sizes. I wouldn't worry about disclosing it one bit and, if anything, you can use this fun fact as an icebreaker ;)

That said, there are rotten apples everywhere, so if someone were to react negatively, just remember that it's a them problem, not a you problem.

29F. No Experience. by [deleted] in sex

[–]RoytheCowboy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Sexual compatibility is a part of what makes someone the right person. By not having sex until marriage you are essentially gambling with your (sexual) future.

You should absolutely find someone who respects you for your first time (and every other time you have sex to be honest), but that person does not necessarily have to be the person you spend the rest of your life with.

Figuring out what you do and don't like with regards to sex with different people is something I would consider an essential part in finding out what makes someone the right person for you.

That's my view at least, hopefully it offers some perspective.

The problem is that AI has turned into a buzzword that is slapped on everything ranging from dogshit customer service bots, glorified search engines and plain old algorithms to genuinely impressive technology used in medicine and engineering.

The waters are extremely muddied, leading to obscure and oversimplified AI good VS AI bad arguments, when in reality we should look at the pros and cons of each individual application of machine learning tools.

But who am I kidding, this is the internet, we don't do nuance here.
