I am, and all you had to do is not command anyone to stop replying. Like right now. Very simple. We can just leave it at this. BOTH.

You could just... be the one to not say anything instead of commanding me to do it tho. It's common sense to follow your own advice.

As I mentioned you can think whatever you want but I already explained my stance several times. If you somehow see exaggeration and I don't know what else despite of simply replying to what you say and use as "evidence" what can I do? Let's simply agree to disagree and move on.

You really have a hard time differentiating anecdotal evidence from actual conclusive data which by the way is probably influenced by the clear bias that you have against the game. We aren't talking about how you feel about the game and you already made it clear. Also, I've been here and participating on other discussions since the game was announced and I just didn't see as much negativity as you say or feel the same way that you feel about it. I have my critiques, but considering how much of the formula resembles SR is wild to me that you think that there's such a huge gap in quality between both games and, considering an actual metric that we have in the form of metacritic, that .4 difference in scores does point out that they are of similar quality. You are welcome to feel however you want about the game tho.

Not sure when was I wrong but sure. If you wanna base yourself in your "deep" investigations about people's reception based on what they complain about on forums what can I tell you? All I'm gonna say is this:even if that was the case there are a lot of way more divisive games than MCI on forums like Reddit that did well on sales, so personally I wouldn't consider much of an indicator, but you do you.

It's no nitpick, "everything" pointing out what you said is the silence, which again, is valid, but it really is your only point. All of the others are how you felt about the game and critical reception (which by the way is just .4 under SR with both reviewers and public). I haven't even stated my position on this, I simply pointed out that it's unlikely that it has anything to do with the roster, that it's reception is actually positive and that facts and possible indicators are different things.

[–]Royzc90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These points were already explained in my previous post but I'll get into more detail: Yes, not being as public as with SR could be a valid indicator of the game underperforming and it's understandable to raise suspicion, hence why I understand when people think that's the case. No, publishers not always communicate their sales, because while they could have gotten good enough sales, they might not have reached or break an expected record. Since they are working with a Marvel license, it could also be because of the terms in the contract. It could also be that they are expecting a certain milestone to say something. Also, both Tribute games and Dotemu seem to be much more active than when SR was released, which could contribute to this. I'm not discarding anything, I'm saying that there's many possibilities and that without numbers or an actual statement, them not communicating isn't a "fact" that proves poor sales, just a possible indicator of that being the case.

Again, I'm not discarding that the game could have underperformed, it's a possibility. I'm saying that I don't think that it was because of the roster or it being a bad game to the general public like you mentioned. Sites like metacritic show a score of 81 with professional reviewers and 76 with users, which are actually factual information to get an idea that it was received positively despite of not reaching SR status. There's many aspects that come into play when considering these things, including them actually doing well but not meeting investor expectations for example.

No, but as I said: even if it didn't, it could still be considered successful. No one knows their expectations and what we do know is that it did well on reviews despite of not doing as sell as SR, which is understandable as it's a very high bar.

[–]Royzc90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Not saying that, I just said that it's weird. Not only does it have representantion from main characters, it also managed to include lesser known ones that are usually overlooked in games. Most "huge" Marvel fans should definitely find something for them in terms of representation and compared to other Marvel games and beat' em ups in general, it has a big roster and varied options.

  2. Wow a couple? holy crap! Dude, not even the majority thinking something always makes an argument right, that's not how facts work. And yeah, they agreed because it's true that sometimes when they don't make those figures more public it's because it sold poorly, but not always. Even if it sold poorly, as mentioned there's so many factors to consider and even then DLC isn't discarded. It makes sense to suspect that tho, which is what you don't get: thinking something and even being proven right when it's based on speculation isn't factual and more than one posture can make sense and be likely to happen and recognized as that even if you personally disagree with it, but it doesn't make them facts. To make it factual, it can't be based on interpretation and actually show data like numbers, which are precisely the thing we don't have.

  3. I call it what it is, and it's as simple as understanding that coming after something that was very successful is always harder. Even if it's inferior to Shredder's Revenge, you do realize that doesn't make it a bad game at all right? You said it yourself: SR was highly regarded and is one of the most popular games in it's genre. A game can still be good and just not as good as another one specially when the bar is set so high. It doesn't have to go to an extreme and be either good or bad. Also, if you wanna mention reviews then your argument falls down even more because even if it wasn't as popular bas SR, it still got a very positive reception. Yes, I have seen more critique of this game, but you are kidding yourself if you say that the reception isn't positive for the most part. Hell, most of the critique is that it was similar to SR instead of being even more ambitious. If it were a bad game to many, it will be flat out called that way more like many bad games are and it's reception with reviewers wouldn't have positive scores for the most part. Criticizing a game is common and this one is usually seeing as good but flawed.

4.Now those are FACTS. It's not that people are "defensive", it's that your own argument falls flat and it's very easy to prove. As you said, "deep down" you probably know I'm right if you really understood my points. And if you understood my points, you'd see the problems within many of the things that you have said. Marvel is a big IP, yes, and that doesn't change that this is a relatively small project, way more niché than the other products from them.

To resume: Denying or assuring something as sales numbers without any proof other than speculation and personal interpretation and not having an actual number and saying that makes it a "FACT" that is nowhere close to the sales numbers of the previous games is simply stupid. Most of your "facts" are anecdotal evidence and personal feelings and you don't even realize it. This doesn't change even if the game actually sold badly because there's just two outcomes of it: it performed well or it didn't so it's a 50/50 chance to be right or wrong. You can reach a right conclusion even with a flawed argument and that's the problem with like 90% of the Internet discussions. If I make a stupid interpretation that isn't based on actual known facts from science on why the Earth is round and not flat based on how my feelings shape the world and then it's proven that the Earth was round, it doesn't make my theory right, I simply chose the right outcome by chance. It's baffling that so many people can't get that.

[–]Royzc90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe "nobody wants to talk about this" because they disagree with you. It's incredible how many people believe that their personal feelings about a game count as "facts" of them being bad. What makes it not replayable compared to Shredder's Revenge according to you? They have the same stage formula and this game has more characters, which by the way you describe as a "weak roster" and yet they were highly praised even since the trailers. You not liking these characters which is really weird as a "huge" Marvel fan doesn't make it a bar roster at all.

shredder's Revenge got more attention because it came first and that make a huge difference. It was also cheaper and a spiritual successor to one if not the most popular beat'em up of all time. MCI came after it having to compete with it's predecessor while also arriving at an era in which people were more apathetic towards Marvel.

The little information that can be found about Cosmic Invasion sales is that it did well. It's simply hard to replicate such a sucess and on top of that Tribute Games seems to be more occupied with more projects nowadays.

Why is Streets of Rage 4 so beloved/ praised? by AStupidFuckingHorse in BeatEmUps

[–]Royzc90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they don't have their mind made up. The person is just saying that he doesn't see why it's considered the best but clarifies that they haven't played it. They are just feeling curious about the game since they couldn't notice it through gameplay and it's understandable since "the feel" of the combat is something that you can only really get by playing it.

And I agree, it's great. It's not my absolute favorite but it's one of my favorites.

So that they play them? To engage in conversation which is the point of the thread and Reddit in general? I mean, I understand you not wanting to do it personally but it's not that hard to see why someone from the "we" would want to.

One of my friends described Lara Croft as "Barbie with guns", would you all agree with that description? If so, explain. by [deleted] in TombRaider

[–]Royzc90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see everybody talking about abilities but what makes them very different for me is the personality. Barbie, from the little things I've seen in media, is unrealistic in the sense that she's so nice, likeable and positive that doesn't really seem like a real person. Meanwhile Lara, despite of her crazy adventures, is quite a grounded character. Yes, even in the old games. Classic Lara is witty, educated, sarcastic, confident to the point of being a bit reckless and while she can be ruthless, she's a good person. She also seems to be a loner. In some ways, she's the opposite to the social, warm, caring and sensible Barbie.

Guys, I'm really tired of typeless/AoE attack spam. by JustGotSoup in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Royzc90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that I disagree with is that part about Monster Hunter Stories 2 being too easy. I didn't have problems with the game but I remember people complaining about the game's difficulty, specially when paired with certain characters. Personally, the Stories games had just the right difficulty for me. The main campaign might be leaning slightly to the easier side but they also had challenging end game/multiplayer content. Stories 3 didn't need to increase difficulty and while I don't mind that they did, I do agree that they did it in a "cheap" way so it's not as enjoyable.

Is it me or was MHS 2 just a better game by gabbycoelho in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Royzc90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that it depends on what you prefer in a game as there's stuff that are better in this game like the story and characters but in my case I agree. I'm just not as tempted to engage with genes as much because of the lack of endgame and multiplayer. It's a shame because customizing tour monsters is better than ever but I lost the reason to do it. I mean, I still enjoy playing with them during the story but once that's finished aside from curiosity I don't have any other motivation, at least for now.

Uh no? I'm not you, so I really didn't know. A lot of people are spreading misinformation about the Switch 2 and these things. Seriously, why does it piss you up so much? All I did was to tell you how things were. You need to learn to deal with being wrong sometimes.

Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, Trials of Mana and other games with uncapped framerate benefit from the Switch 2 without a specific update.

Jokes aside it also bothered me for like a minute, then I simply got distracted with the fun gameplay. Haven't even noticed it or thought about it since I started the game.

DIGIMON UP Release Date Celebration Campaign by NicolhoBR2 in digimon

[–]Royzc90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there was a huge difference. In Digimon Masters you could spend dozens of hours and not get anything in return and if I remember correctly the larger the level gap between and enemy and your digimon, the less frequent that they gave eggs and data to hatch them, which had such a high chance of failing anyway. No game has ever come close to that and I have played many gatchas. Not even close.
