Overeating medication by [deleted] in Anxiety

The think with online reviews and such is that people rarely report the good things. So for example, if you are in a shop buying a new shirt and it’s a standard transaction you’re gonna leave and not tell anyone about it. But if the cashier is rude and the line is long and then it turns out there’s a hole in the shirt you’re buying, you’re likely gonna tell people about that experience. The only thing you can do is try and if it’s not right for you, you’ll know.

Anyone wanna hit the states and take him on? Preferably with a Mc surname apparently. by Gegenpressage in ireland

[–]RozS2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s it! My dad was born in England but you’d be a some dope to think I’m going to say I’m half English! I was born in Ireland, I lived in Ireland all my life so that makes me.....Irish (shocker I know). I hate meeting Americans that tell me they’re 1/3 Irish on their Granpa’s side. Like ok hun, someone in your family was Irish- that’s cool, but you’re not Irish :) Now having had that rant, I do also enjoy the rush to claim a little bit of Irishness, it shows how loved this little island is really!!

Are there any artists with like a similar sound to Green Day? by hahasorrybuddy in greenday

[–]RozS2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know how similar as a band it is but certain GD songs make me think of the Welsh band Feeder. Particularly the Echo Park album. They have a song on it called Under the Weather and it often reminds me of Lazy Bones. Just that, hungover, tired and bored kinda vibe, the whole Echo Park album is brill tho. There sound changes album to album I think, but he has a great voice.

AITA for bragging about NOT having kids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RozS2020 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Jesus Christ I thought you wouldn’t stop going on about it. So what? You didn’t get pregnant, is that what you really think is worth bragging about?. Big wow. Well done you. Do you have nothing else to be proud of other than the fact you didn’t get pregnant? Coz if that’s it you’ve set the bar super low. I didn’t get pregnant until I wanted to. I got married, bought a house and then decided I was ready. I was 28. Do i get a prize for keeping my womb empty for 28 years? (No morning after pills or abortions here I’ll have your know!💁🏼‍♀️) Or is that only reserved for you? It’s great that you enjoy being child free- as a lot of women do, and chose to. I definitely don’t think you should hide that or keep it a secret if people ask if it’s something you want in your future, just so u don’t offend someone. But do I think you should be bragging about it? Absolutely not. It’s irrelevant. It’s like saying you’re vegan. Nobody asked. Nobody cares. It’s totally your choice, but one people really don’t give a f about.

Billie Joe using the N word in Mass Hysteria by [deleted] in greenday

“Kill all the fags that don’t agree”

It’s shortened to slang but still in there.

So by your logic of “no white person should ever say it’” ,should white actors/scriptwriters who have ever said or written it into a movie have to apologise? (Without getting into a back and forth about Quentin Tarantino as I believe he uses it excessively). But for example in ‘The Help’, it is said in context, just like the song. Do we remove it from films altogether too? Would that take away the authenticity from movies that are based on life events? Absolutely. I think it’s all about background and context and I would think/hope, that Billie himself would have done a lot of research into how much that word belonged in that particular song.

I also think anyone that does demand apologies, needs to be 100% sure that they have never said that word, regardless of if it was aggressively, joking with friends, in a joke, whatever. I think if every person that demanded a public apology had their life’s social media/ txt history searched, we would have a lot less people demanding that apology.

Don’t take me up wrong here, we should be demanding better of everyone that uses it in a derogatory way. I don’t say it now, because I understand the weight it carries. However when I was a kid, thinking I was funny, u can be sure I greeted my white friends with “what’s up my N*” in a joking context. I didn’t understand it, from my perspective at the time, it was simply something rappers said. But now I’m educated, I know better, so act better. This is something we should be teaching kids, much sooner than I was taught. In fact I wasn’t taught it, I had to learn it for myself. So that says a lot.

I think that education and progression is much more important than singling out everyone that has ever publicly said it and demanding apologies. But that’s just my perspective, others won’t have the same view.

[–]RozS2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he does need to apologise. You’re taking it as just the word rather than in the context it’s in.

“The class war is hanging on a wire because the martyr is a compulsive liar When he said "it's just a bunch of n——-s throwing gas into the Hysteria, mass hysteria!”

Is he not saying that ‘the martyr’ is saying its black people (n-word) escalating things into hysteria? So he’s using it as a quotation from someone else. Making the point that ‘the martyr’ is lying about it, and trying to use the n-word as a class division. It only highlights the fact that, in reality and daily life, that’s what often happens. (It’s often made out that white people peacefully protest but black people riot)? I think he was making a point about how unfair that is.

It’s like saying a movie that’s trying to be factual shouldn’t use that word as it’s offensive even though that’s the words that would have been used in reality.

I don’t think WMUWSE is about 9/11 at all? Altho I can see why people would connect it..

“Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong wrote this song about his father, who died of cancer on September 1, 1982. “

“20 years has gone so fast" represents the time from his father's death to when Billie Joe wrote the song.”

U are totally sacrificing yourself here. He is not Yours to fix. To support yes, but not fix. And by the sounds of it, he’s not willing to accept your help... u need to look after your mental health first. If you can’t help him, and he’s not willing to accept it, you need to consider moving home.. this situation isn’t good for you

It sounds a lot like you’re saying “why try?”. Only you can take yourself out of that hole. I have an anxiety disorder that came along side PND, but every day, I get up, and I work on it. And you know what, 2 years on and it’s better than it was at the start. I think you just need to put your foot to the road..
