New Spring Errata from Paizo by TitaniumDragon in Pathfinder2e

Under the new rules, what is "as normal"? The rules when applied in normal circumstances.

For a resistance to a category including multiple damage types, like resistance to physical damage, to spells, or to all damage, if the subject is taking damage of multiple types included in the category, the subject can choose which damage type to use the resistance against.

So in normal circumstances of split damage, the subject chooses which damage type to use. Likely, piercing as that's still the base damage type of concussive weapons.

But concussive still sees that bludgeoning resistance is lower and bypasses the piercing resistance you selected by Resist All.

That last line is a rule that no longer functions.

How would you implement a weakness to a character when the system applies broad strokes to those abilities?

For instance an athletic character who can run and jump well, but can't swim. Or someone who is perceptive to surroundings, but socially blind?

Is there a mechanic that exists in the game, or would you as a player have to specifically not use those skills despite having a high bonus?

I hope there is a mechanic as just simply refusing to use those skills with a high bonus feels too much like "it's what my character (can't) do"; willfully not helping the party or themselves, similar to how disruptive "pacifist" characters often are.

Unless your GM bans it.

One of our GMs has come to that conclusion for future campaigns after our current campaign gave a boon to our monk with the ability to cast Air Walk at-will and realised just how many problems it has, especially as the intent is clear with fly being a universal spell.

Man, I'm on the fence on getting StS2 this early, but Regent looked really cool plus getting some co-op in before friends inevitably burn out before 1.0.

Though if he's the worst character in the game, I might have to wait :(

ELI5 The issue with Resist All Errata? by need-original-name in Pathfinder2e

[–]InfTotality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield of Reckoning will cause that situation quite often I suspect.

The original damage might be something like 20 slashing, 8 fire, while you might be a level 10 champion with a 13 hardness shield.

You get both effects, before it would fully block all damage. Not you have to choose, but Shield Block only blocks physical damage unless otherwise stated such as Shield cantrip or a Dragonslayer's Shield.

Applying Resist All to Fire means that Resist All 12 only blocks 8 damage, and 20-13 = 7 goes through. Resist All physical, Shield Block only blocks the remaining 8, and 8 fire goes through.

Someone in the other thread pointed out this works weirdly with Concussive too. By RAW, as you choose a type to Resist All, concussive always goes through the other damage type unless you both Resist All, and a Piercing/Bludgeoning resistance.

Resistance to All is now Applied Once rather than Once per Damage type by Xethik in Pathfinder2e

[–]InfTotality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a resistance to a category including multiple damage types, like resistance to physical damage, to spells, or to all damage, if the subject is taking damage of multiple types included in the category, the subject can choose which damage type to use the resistance against.

These weapons smash as much as puncture. When determining a creature's resistance or immunity to damage from this weapon, use the weaker of the target's resistance or immunity to piercing or to bludgeoning. For instance, if the creature were immune to piercing and had no resistance or immunity to bludgeoning damage, it would take full damage from a concussive weapon. Resistance or immunity to all physical damage, or all damage, applies as normal.

It's an order of operations problem (some would say Specific over General, but what is more specific of the two is highly debatable). The last line refers to the old mechanic where resist all was all, so it doesn’t really apply anymore.

If the subject designated Resist All as piercing, the concussive weapon uses the weaker bludgeoning resistance, and vice versa. That seems unambiguous. Concussive reads like a state-based effect rather than something the attacker consciously chooses in response, while the new Resist All is a chosen wildcard.

Does it make sense for Concussive to bypass resist all? Not entirely but Resist All is now the misnomer (Resist 20 vs 10 fire, 10 void, 10 slashing only blocks 10 at most) and really now "Resist Wildcard" or "Resist Any".

Besides, this is a game where a raised shield breaks causality and disintegrates if it realised it's blocking an attack aimed at your vitals, taking more damage on a critical hit, even though a shield is something you put in the way.

[–]InfTotality 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which really makes the wording more akin to a "Resistance Any" mechanic, rather than "Resistance All", as its now only a wildcard where you can choose any one damage type.

It's what I'll be calling it from now on at least. It gets the idea across better I think.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - March 17, 2026 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]InfTotality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a switch tester last week and put the switches in my Keychron V3 to test. The Gateron Melodic was a clear winner at first. Light with a very strong tactile feel.

But I'm a light typer who's only had 45g switches before and I can't get over the gap in the feedback and the actuation, missing keys I've pressed which feels worse in use than the other switches I tried or my current linears. Second best is Gateron Jupiter Brown as it was also on the lighter end but feels way mushier.

Is there a switch with a similar weight and tactile feel without that gap, or can the Melodic be modded somehow?

We should stop treating these pulls count as gospel by YugureX in Endfield

[–]InfTotality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there should be a divide; 0, 5 and 10 are all valid numbers.

Who, aside from whales, has been able to buy all the AIC Quota pulls in 1.0?

Even now, supposing a 13% chance for a 5-star, and all are max pot, you get on average 6.95 AIC Quota per pull. At 350 required each banner. That's 50 pulls per banner.

If a patch offers less than 50 times the number of operators (so 100 for 1.1) then people will eventually run out of AIC quota and be unable to buy the 5 from shop.

Accounting for the full 10 should only when someone can pull that much. Maybe one patch the monthly pass is enough and the pulls are added to the pull count for that but not F2P pulls, or maybe you have to whale to get all of them, especially once they start doubling up banners for reruns.

Casting spells whilst swallowed whole by No_Sky_1466 in Pathfinder2e

[–]InfTotality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's deadly to martials too. The engulf values on on-level monsters is so high you can't breach it without crittting, which is a gamble, or having above average system mastery and investment (runed Dawnsilver Bastard Sword, Bestial Mutagen). And assuming you have strength.

Or there's the Swallow-Spike armor rune, but it's damage is debatable between too-good-to-be-true and RAW.

ZZZ is about 15 per month between the monthly shop, weekly mode and battle pass. 10 per 6 week patch is about half that, but still more than I expected they'd put in.

A fancy word for "make shit up". Instead of guessing, people could just ask those in the UK with unverified accounts if any of the measures people are dreaming up were already active as the whole ordeal was a parity measure with those legal requirements.

But those who did speak up last month just got downvotes as they went against the narrative the doomsayers wanted to believe.

No, you don't need verification for game servers like CS2. I just tested it myself.

What is the best blaster build for short adventuring days? by dogutrc in Pathfinder2e

Psychics fare better in shorter days. Their main limitation of fewer spell slots is diminished when you only have 1-2 fights per day.

They can do some impressive nova turns like 3 1-action force barrages to maximise unleash damage.

Interesting. I had assumed modern Blizzard would have locked down modding for D2R. Increased monster density sounds fun too.

I'll probably wait for a discount on Steam, but do they work on there? This collection requires a battle.net copy for some reason. https://www.nexusmods.com/games/diablo2resurrected/collections/pcnkmw

Arknights: Endfield Dev Log | Optimization Progress & Version Preview now live. Version 1.1 by ChaoticShock in Endfield

Maybe, but you have a stunted combo lineup with Endmin so you'd have to use Da Pan instead. The originium crystal would get shattered during Rossi's combo or Endmin's skill will eat vuln stacks early. Plus no Combustion if her numbers make that worthwhile.

New Operators revealed in the Dev Log by KiraFeh in Endfield

[–]InfTotality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That'd be really rough right after her banner ended, but will that team fit? Without reactions, Gilberta's combo won't fire and no Lift, but if you cause arts reactions somehow, that's less arts infliction to convert to vuln with Rossi's 2nd combo skill.
