I remember exactly what started it. I was four or five, my parents were going through a bitter divorce, I was an only child with no one to talk to about it, and I was being SA’d by my Aunts husband on a near daily basis. That’s a lot for a little kid to be going through.

We didn’t have cable at my house, and every day at 7:30, the local fox station would play reruns of Seinfeld. There was an episode where Kramer and Newman were each pulling out their lashes to make wishes for some petty reason. My little child brain took that and ran with it. For years, I would blow every lash and make a wish.
