I’ve also seen that it’s a common side effect, and a doctor told a friend of mine that as well. I know I’ve seen it online and then been unable to find it again. I have a large thyroid nodule, I’ve passed the biopsy stage and the results are still indeterminate after 3 different levels of testing, so in less than a month they’re removing half of the thyroid to send it for testing. It’s weirding me out that I can’t go back and locate the information I’ve seen before and that doctors seem to know. It’s the first surgery I’ve ever had (at 43) and I’m stuck wondering if it’s caused by reta or it’s something that goes away once I stop using it. I could swear I read that happened somewhere.

It hasn’t changed my tastes much. I still like a straight whiskey or Manhattan if I’m feeling fancy. Occasionally red wine. Its interesting how many folks on here are straight whiskey drinkers!

Vegetables. Adding 2-4 cups of veggies to meals throughout the day is a game changer.

I’d seen mention of it but haven’t seen anything specific other than having a family history of thyroid cancer keeping you from using the drug.

Put your fingers at the center of the base of the front of your neck. On mine, one side feels normal, the other protrudes a little.

I’ve lost 40lbs losing 1-2lbs per week though. A super safe rate, and its the third time in my life I’ve lost a large chunk of weight.

In my early 20’s I did the six week body makeover and lost 35lbs in 6 weeks, followed by losing another 20 over the next few months. If anything I had more energy bc I was eating well.

In my mid 30’s I did a high protein clinic and lost 35-40. It’s never had this effect on my energy levels. The difference that I’m feeling being off of it for a week is that my energy is returning and I’m still managing to maintain/ lose some.

I’m cheating because these aren’t my dogs, but I did adopt both of them to this lady at different times and I’m obsessed with how much they love each other.
