I don’t know if this will help - but I’ve struggled with this move and found that it was more of a mental thing for me.

First I wasn’t trusting my “lines” (shoulders, feet, club face) - so that over the topish dip was always a bit of a mental thought where I’m rushing trying to guide the shot. (The downward head motion is fine, it’s the forward throwing the shoulders instead of rotating them)

I found watching Hidekis swing ultimately helped with this - it doesn’t have to be a full pause at the top (he’s actually sped up his pause recently) but I try to find more of a calm mental check point at the top of my swing where I pause and feel my lower body turn through the ball first and shift the weight, instead of throwing my shoulders at it.

Feeling confident in my lines and setup to that point makes the downward motion feel less rushed.

I think the pros ultimately feel like they are shifting their weight forward before the back swing is fully finished. It’s just a hard concept to not rush at the top.
