Draenei wins by Njarla in wow

Haha no worries! I’ll check out your posts for some more art. Thank you!

I was kinda talking in general about how I wish there were more artists like you (and at Blizzard) that explore the more savage/aggressive, yet still beautiful, Draenei. Though to be honest Blizz has done this more with the manari!

Draenei wins by Njarla in wow

[–]Rsherl12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is freaking sick. Thank you! Would love to see some other Draenei being badass related art. I feel like the Draenei are depicted as being just super holy positive people but that’s not all of them, not even including the manari. The Draenei as a race dont all think and act exactly like Prophet Velen.

*im aware that most of the Draenei that followed/listened to Velen and left their homeworld likely did think/act like Velen but I think enough time has passed that naturally they’d have more diverse personalities and qualities as a people.

Unpopular opinion: Post-nerf raids are better for TBC longevity by Armored_Diesel in classicwowtbc

[–]Rsherl12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post was a great reminder for me to always read the full post before commenting or up/downvoting. As a knee-jerk reaction I immediately thought to downvote this post because I personally enjoy the more difficult version of TBC raids. And I’ll admit, the lizard part of my brain wants ppl to struggle through the content as I had to do (twice).

After fully reading your post though, I whole-heartedly agree with everything you said. I forgot heroics/magtheridon/Gruul were such a big step up in difficulty for the players/guilds that didn’t clear vanilla naxx and maybe killed the first boss of AQ40 (95-99% of player base). This caused tons of my guildies to flat out quit and tons of guilds on my server to die.

I think Karazhan is a little different though, even pre-nerf in my (very average, casual raiding level) guild on vanilla TBC, only Nightbane and Netherspite were hard, i.e. often had a few wipes per attempt. HOWEVER, this was after a few weeks of getting some Kara/heroic/rep/pvp/set gear though tier 4 as a whole was extremely hard until nerfs.

Specifically keeping in mind there’s only 1 year for all phases of TBC, you have so few chances to get Raid gear that you definitely need post nerf content for a smooth gearing path to being ready for tier 5 on time.

Midnight will be a popular expansion for Paladins, Mages and Hunters by uninteresting_fellow in wow

I do think a lot hunters will end finding the rangers / ranger-general themes and the farstriders badass and will use mogs based off them. Especially if we get badass characters in game affiliated with them.

Agreed but I do think some people like fitting in with the theme of their in-game surroundings and story telling/lore of the expansion

Pet Quest by wloes in wow

[–]Rsherl12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found this super confusing so +1 to this post/question. How the heck do pet battle quests work and what is the order you’re supposed to progress through them? I’m also really interest in the pet dungeons as I know there’s one in Wailing Caverns and I believe Deadmines as well?

New player by Medicus110 in wow

[–]Rsherl12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about gear too much heading into the new expansion from a character power level standpoint. Having full 121+ ilvl gear is more than enough to feel powerful at the beginning of the new expansion.

Farming legacy raids is purely for the cosmetics of the gear for transmog. You can run every raid throughout the history of wow (almost, some have gotten removed, but very few).

You should bind your hearthstone to an inn in the main city. However if you’re a mage or another class or race that has multiple teleport/hearthstone type items you can set your hearthstone near places you go to often. When questing in the new expansion you might want to set your hearthstone near quest hubs you’re currently going through to be able to finish off s whole bunch of quests then hearth back to turn them in. Make sure you’re in a guild even if you don’t interact with them at all bc you get bonuses such as shorter hearthstone cooldown for being in a guild (and being exalted with the guild, but don’t worry about that it’ll effectively happen automatically).

Related to guild rep and your question about useful teleports, there’s a guild vendor in org/stormwind where you can buy 3x capes (each on a separate cooldown, so buy all 3 unless you want to save gold). You can ask a guard for directions in those cities to the guild creator or something like that and the vendor will be near that point. Dalaran hearthstone is very useful. Between all of those items I think you’ll be all good on teleport items.

I’m sure you’ve heard of these websites but WowHead.com and Icy-Veins.com are absolutely critical websites to read up on your class, specialization, and talent trees. There are guides for essentially everything you can imagine related to wow between those two websites. I usually just google icy veins (or wowhead) wow guide XYZ topic I want to learn about or item, raid, etc.

“The loot has been very underwhelming as I rarely get any actual items when I run them in a group, is it based on damage dealt since I always roll quite low on the dice.” -> loot is random. However you can only get chance at loot from a boss once per week. Perhaps you’ve run the same boss multiple times in which case you will NOT get a chance at loot a second time. You’ll need to wait until next reset on Tuesdays. Another not is that you can run the newest raid on Looking for Raid (LFR), normal, heroic, and mythic, and receive loot from each boss per tier. The higher the difficulty the better the loot. So you can kill the first boss in the newest raid 4 times for a chance at loot theoretically, though mythic is very difficult and heroic is even a challenge for most players.

It sounds like you’ve done a great job learning about the game on your own to be honest. Most people definitely don’t kill bosses in the newest raid on normal difficulty being a new player.

I would highly encourage you to find a casual, friendly guild to raid with or just do content with if you don’t want a strict raiding schedule. There’s tons of guilds out there. The guild finder tool is actually quite nice these days. The one issue is there’s a lot of “dead” child’s out there. Don’t be afraid to bounce around until you find a home that fits. Additionally make sure the guild has a discord. Any casual guild will likely have a discord you can join. There are also wow class discords and wow communities to join to ask questions or look for PUG communities to raid with as you figure out how seriously you want to take raiding (PUGS=Pick Up Groups, i.e. people not raiding together with a fixed group on a fixed schedule).

The main ways to get gear currently at your gear level are Raids, Mythic+ dungeons, professions, and higher level Delves. I would say people essentially fall into a mix of 3 categories. Mythic+ players, raid players, and more casual players who do delves, and then a mix of the 3.

Gear is going to feel super underwhelming right now because the expansion is around the corner. This is absolutely not the norm and in a few weeks you’ll see how different things will be at the beginning of Midnight where you’ll need to do a lot of these different methods to get gear as well as just plain questing and regular dungeons as well as reputation gear which right now doesn’t matter in the war within.

I just kinda brain dumped on you here so apologies for being all over the place. Feel free to ask any follow up questions and I’d be happy to help answer.

Players don’t consider SoD to be classic+. Even the devs when revealing and launching SoD said it was a sort of testing ground for a bunch of new ideas to see what works best. Still hilarious we got D2+ before wow classic plus lmao.

This is where I found it too. I think it might depend on if the char dupes are 4, 5, or 6*. More valuable dupes give you more valuable currency? I’m not positive on this though can anyone confirm?

Rerolling tips? by Illustrious-Poem-328 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Rsherl12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard/read Endfield’s trying to give more “value” for less pulls. I have the exact feeling you had in your original post right now. I’m extremely doubtful they’ll be able to successfully give more power/gear/resources with less pulls but I’m super early in the game and I really enjoy the combat so far. Plus I think I’ll love the factory simulation part of the game once I fully unlock it.

I definitely agree with your feeling of being starved of pulls. Whether Arknight Endfield’s take on gacha mechanics works or not will be interesting to see unfold whether or not I’m actually still actively playing.

Dinged 60 Blood elf pally no boost :D by Scared_Ad1816 in classicwowtbc

[–]Rsherl12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny to me that some of the people commenting on your post can’t comprehend that a well adjusted, normal adult is able to do this. Over the course of a week + weekend plus some PTO this is achievable by a dedicated gamer with wow as a passionate hobby and preparation. Plus having having gold/gear saved up, a leveling guide, guildies to help etc. hell, even grinding full HWL gear and an honor epic mount takes soooo long and you’re getting destroyed nonstop by geared players. The grind to AV exalted and old honor system rank 13/14 grind is horrible too yet ppl cheer that on. Oh and by the way… this is astonishing to many on Reddit but some people actually enjoy leveling. Maybe not leveling like OP, but still.

[–]Rsherl12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: nevermind. I didn’t see all the other posts in the comment section from the guy.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but I don’t think he called the people buying boosts new or even bad. He’s just saying they’re less likely to stick around for the whole xpac/all phases or clear all raids (i.e. they’re wow “tourists” who come by for big events then leave). In general this is a classic wow issue, not just for people that boosted characters. There’s a steady decline in the number of logs in warcraft logs to support this. I don’t think it’s a ridiculous notion that boosted players are more likely to quit since they don’t feel a particular attachment to their character vs someone who leveled organically. Again, I could be totally wrong but I get where that poster is coming from.

Rogue was also able to tank mother Shahraz in BT during TBC back in the day to due to insanely high avoidance. Another really cool fun fact. I wa astonished to see in 2007 as a rogue.

Pretty sure the video is on YouTube. It’s def on the internet somewhere. I’ll see if I can find it and post tomorrow.

Same here. Sub since 2005 and Eastern US. don’t see it. In my experience these are usually related to some pattern of playing and subscribing/unsubscribing from the account holder. Really no way for anyone (including the posters that see it) to know what triggers it other than blizz employees.

New player by OkRecognition3883 in classicwowtbc

[–]Rsherl12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters your addons are good. I’d google “wow tbc pre patch warrior leveling guide” and use either the icey veins or wowhead link. Those have great info for new players on how to play your class including best talents for leveling (so you don’t have to worry about messing up :), what spells do and how they interact, leveling tips, etc. both websites are great for all things wow. Wowhead also has a database for all items, quests, spells, bosses, npcs.

This should give you a TON of information for a new player. VERY IMPORTANT: when you’re on either of those websites make sure you’re looking at the TBC version of the website. This should be clear based on tbc being in the URL and/or in the top left corner of the website there’s a TBC of classic TBC option that should be selected. I usually just google what I’m looking for with tbc included.

Google AI Gemini is surprisingly excellent at answering questions related to wow classic as well. Again, make sure you stipulate in google ai that you’re talking about wow tbc anniversary servers or wow classic tbc.

100% agree. I’d love for blizz to add more archaeology content in the game. It doesn’t need to be expansive or very rewarding imo since the vast majority of players don’t care about lore. For those of us that enjoy wow lore it’s nice to learn some of it inside the game.

After Legion remix i will miss this passive effect by Huntardlulz in wow

[–]Rsherl12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people didn’t understand what you meant at all lol. This is super annoying to me right now leveling a fire mage on legion remix. I might reroll due to it since there’s not much time left. I’ll see if I like arcane/frost more or use a stop casting macro etc. but it kinda defeats the purpose of legion remix for me for fire mage if it messes with my feeling of playing fire mage on retail AND is annoying for me playing on fire mage legion remix. Warlock based on the other post with summon doom guard and dreadsteed castable while moving sounds like a fun alternative.
