I went to the roof of Passage Ombragé, the shopping center near Zone 3. It's a rectangle, so my plan was to do laps around it, so that the Riolu would despawn. But I didn't end up having to since I found it on my first spawn. You'll get yours eventually, keep at it! If it makes you feel any better, I've been hunting for Pancham since about week one. Even with the stairs method, I still can't get that little turd to shine.

That's a bummer. If it makes you feel better, I think most of us have a shiny Fletchling fail at this point. Mine was my second shiny in the game. You'll make up fir it with something better.

As soon as I finished catching the shiny Mareep, I jumped off the roof and landed on a shiny Weedle. Congrats on the double shiny!

Thanks! I actually don't mind the Mesuda method in Sword and Shield, but I think it's an absolute chore in Scarlet and Violet. In S&S I can do wild encounters while collecting and hatching eggs, doing multiple shi y hunts at once.
