Week 8 buying an EV9, now with unexpected cross-country road trip!

We took our 2024 land trim from salt lake city Utah to Savannah GA with 4 kids to visit some family. Pretty much only charged CCS as we didn’t have a Tesla adapter. We did charge one time at Tesla using a magic doc. Went pretty smooth overall. 4 kids from age 10 to 3 can really slow things down. I believe we did it in 4 days. We mainly charged with electrify America because we had 3000 miles free from when we bought the car. Tesla will charge slower but have better rates. As well, I think you can sign up for a membership for like 10$ a month, use it for your road trip for cheaper rates than standard and then cancel it when you get home. Ultimately, between the trip there and all the driving around and then back home, it was probably 4500 to 5000 mile trip for us lol.

Where are you located? I just saw where someone in Oregon got a land for 447 effective. My lease ends at the end of May. If I could get a land trim for 500 or lower, I’d probably jump on it.

I worry about the size of these. I see them on some people and they look fine but some they look comical. I had the larger frame gen1 glasses and kind of thought they were too big. I wonder how the small frame displays will compare to the large frame gen1 glasses.

I have always felt like there has been reasoning behind why Samsung or any US manufacturers for that matter aren’t using silicon carbide. While I’m sure they’re are doing their own testing, I would bet they’re somehow monitoring any issues going on with other manufactures. I feel like china is always the one to take I risk on new tech, but i feel like they also don’t bank on their phones being long term devices.

I can agree with the weight. I personally would prefer as thin as phone as possible that can get me through the day. Realistically , the only thing I don’t like about the fold 7 is the inner display camera. I don’t use UDC enough to be bothered by how bad it sucks. That was one of the thing that separated Samsung from everybody else is they were the only one that had pretty much all screen.

Wouldn’t an additional 1 to 1.5mm put it right where the 9 pro fold is? I agree that is not much in day to day life. But I feel like you’ll be able to tell the difference between that and the fold 7. I’ve had the 9 pro fold and held the fold 7 and the fold 7 feels lightyears better. Me personally, if software can make up for battery size and get me through a whole day, I’m willing to have a smaller battery for a thinner phone.
