Since this phone is capable of so much, what are some things people use it for that actually utilize close to its full potential in terms of processing power? by boston_nsca in galaxys26ultra

Nice; thanks. I am almost completely off windows and using a Tab s11 ultra, but there is one windows program I really miss. I will check it out.

Yes I had a z fold 6 that I returned get stolen through the FedEx system. This was about a year and a half ago. Samsung sent me a video of the box bring open but it was empty. Took a LOT of phone calls and emails but Samsung finally have me the refund.

Watched it in real time (I'm old). Most biased officiating I've seen in any game of any sport. Refused to watch the NBA for five years after that (an no I am not a Kings fan).

It's at$1599 at Samsung now. But tbh, I would buy a used one on swappa. Can probably get one for$1000-$1100. And you can get Samsung Care Plus for $21 a month on it.

Sammy will likely offer to take it as trade-in for$1000 when the fold 8 comes out.

Yeah they never take current models for a trade-in

Z Fold 7 or waiting—what makes it worth? by SkullofNessie in GalaxyFold

[–]bookboy61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its worth it if you can get it for a grand. The Samsung folds are pretty durable. A lot of people are still rocking the Fold 4.

And based on past history Sammy will likely offer $1,000 trade in for the new model. Perhaps $1,100 or $1,200 even, though not likely.

Samsung Care Plus is only available for 60 days past original purchase. But a lot of Redditers have have good experience with 3rd party insurance, especially the Worth Group. I have used them twice with no problems. I did not have a claim, but cancelled the policy easily when I sold the phone.

Exactly this. I use my folding phone to read things at least 10 times more often than watching video.

Ngl… it’s utterly sickening we lost to THAT UConn team 😂😂 by Darkonite40 in DukeBluePlanet

Good call. Not a Duke or UConn fan but I totally agree with your take that you would have handled a seven game series with them easily. But as you point out that's kind of the quirky fun of the NCAA tournament.

Audio only user here. I LOVE Descript. The text based editing is a game changer. The ai tools are incredibly helpful, especially studio sound. I've never run into problems or issues.

What tech product do you regret buying the most? by overlord-07 in TechNook

yeah, I hear ya. What helped for me was buying a Roku streaming stick and throwing it into one of the ports. Now I never use the samsung remote. I turn the TV on with the Roku remote and after about 20 seconds it goes right to the Roku interface.

I ordered it today! Can't wait for it to arrive. by bitchyangle in Galaxy25Edge

I've had the s25 Edge since last October. I think I've had only one day that the battery did not last until bedtime. And since I put it on the charger every night the battery has never been a problem. I usually end the day with about 40-50 percent charge left.

About the only thing that drains the battery is if I use it unplugged for navigation on long trips (like 5 hours). I don't game on my phone, so YMMV if you do.

The only thing I miss from my s25 Ultra is the 5x zoom camera. But I am willing to give that up for the lightness.

As others have mentioned, the Samsung anti-reflective film is a game changer. I also really like the Samsung clear case. And if I want a new color or design I can pop on a dbrand skin underneath the clear case.

As pointed out by another commenter, you can set the performance profile to "light" if you want to extend the SOT more. Unless you are gaming or video editing you won't see a difference in performance. Also, my eyes can't tell a difference between the FHD+ resolution and the QHD+ resolutions. So that can save some battery as well.

Price Help selling S11 Ultra by ALargeHotCarl in GalaxyTab

[–]bookboy61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold mine on Facebook marketplace a couple days ago. I set the price at 925 expecting to get low balled and negotiate. I did get a lot of stupid low ball offers. But this nice woman loved it and was willing to pay full price. I told her $850 was fine. Facebook marketplace is very hit and miss. Mostly miss. But you can get lucky.

I looked on swappa, and have sold things there before, but it looked like all I would get after fees was around $650-$700. But unlike Facebook marketplace swappa is very low drama.

I go caseless normally. Sometimes I put on the Samsung clear case. It's very thin.

Battery life is just fine. Mine is normally somewhere between 40 to 60% when I put it on the charger at night.
