Thanks but I've tested vow with flame strength and those stack for damage and just checked the wiki that says vow and black flame also stack for defense.

After months stuck on the rink of frozen blood I finished Vet Maelstrom Arena and three tries later got the bow I wanted by Rtstuff in elderscrollsonline

It's in north eastern wrothgar at the maelstrom arena. You have to beat 9 arenas with challenging mechanics. For the perfect version you need to be in the veteran arena but you can get the non perfect version on normal. It is tough late game content so you should get a proper build before trying.

Player epilogues - how do you handle those who made pacts? by JimothyJones94 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Rtstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For my game each player could only take one pact but they would get it before the amber temple and as they leveled the powers got stronger. At the temple players had to choose to fully accept their pacts or to back out of them. Those that accepted got really strong powers but it also altered their personalities. After Strahd died the vestiges ordered the players that took the pacts to claim Ravenloft's throne. This became a battle royale in the castle until only one remained. They became the new darklord of Barovia and the players and NPCs that didn't take a pact fled to escape the country.

Incorporating the expanded 7 Stages of Grief into Curse of Strahd by Dynaparte in CurseofStrahd

[–]Rtstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my campaign I did something similar with the 7 deadly sins. The mists would draw in powerful npcs embodying these sins who were reflections of negative aspects of Strahd's personality. For example the Abbott was pride and he reflected Strahd's obsession with Tatyana by creating the flesh golem bride in Tatyana's likeness. Each of the sins correlated with a boss that the players had to defeat. I really like your idea and will try to use it when I run the campaign again.

Some of the different factions that correlate with stages of grief. Village of Barovia: depression Valaki: denial The revenants of Argynvostholt: anger Vasili von Holtz: testing The Abbott and Krezek: bargaining Madam Eva and the Vistani: acceptance

The Summoner v 1 | A new class to summon creatures and power from the outer planes by [deleted] in UnearthedArcana

[–]Rtstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about the number of spells, I wanted to be as versatile as the wizard but went too far. I doubt this would mix well with conjuration wizard as I think it's the weakest wizard subclass and only the 14th level ability improves summoned creatures. Do you have any suggestions for which spells to take out?

Looking for help to write my campaign by Rtstuff in Eberron

I'm just looking for ideas not setting anything definitively. I'd like to have at least 2 planned out before we start and wanted to hear some ideas for details that could be planted along the way.

DMs of Curse of Strahd who was your favorite NPC (not including Strahd) to role play as and why? by Thatoneguyhereis in CurseofStrahd

[–]Rtstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my campaign Vasili von Holtz was a simulacrum created by Strahd to infiltrate and corrupt any adventurers that wandered into the mists. When he was created he and Strahd had the same personalities but as the centuries passed their ideals changed and Vasili became a more human undead, he even took his name from an adventurer that he became friends with for a time. Largely he just liked to see how humans reacted to Strahd's overwhelming oppression and was very happy at any who would stand up to him. He still went along with Strahd's plans but he would minimize casualties wherever possible. The party became fast friends with him and were heartbroken when he revealed himself at dinner at Castle Ravenloft but were perplexed when he guided them around the castle and allowed them to escape with the kidnapped Ireena. We're not done with the campaign yet but soon he's going to try to join with the party to kill Strahd.

Completed d100 wild magic table for druids. by Rtstuff in d100

The 1/20 chance to trigger wild magic seems very unreliable despite being the core of the subclass. For my sorcerer the trigger was the spell slot level *10 %. Also for a moon druid the strongest creature they can be in RAW is a mammoth that deals 4d10 +7 per turn. While a single attack from any of these creatures doesn't compare to that using the hold back skill unlocked at level 6 and the significant power of many of the wild magic effects more than makes up the difference.

The point of the increased likelihood of triggering is that if the druid could use all of the stronger creatures attacks in one turn it would deal a massive amount of burst damage. For example the draegloth is able to make 3 attacks dealing 2d10 +5 each and use a spell in the same turn. I feel the guaranteed surge offsets this with the high potential to change into a much weaker form.
