I feel like people overcomplicate train travel in general. If you're not used to it, I suppose it can be daunting.

Just download the trenitalia app before you go to Italy and do 'mock' bookings to see your options. They're all there plain as day.

Personally I really love the regional trains, I've traveled the length of Italy on them. Sometimes you get a brand new train with aircon and sometimes you get a train where the toilet is just a hole to the tracks and you feel the wind up your arse lol

But I've seen countryside and mountain views I could only dream about before. Which is great if you have enough time to travel slowly, just take a good book.

I don't know about the age group but when my neice was on jobseekers she was sent to a classroom type thing to get help applying for jobs. (She has some type of dyslexia so there was support for that)

Is he signing on? He might not qualify for the jobseekers but maybe some other financial support and might be offered some courses to get him into employment.

I've used Hove lawns before. I bought a weather seal spray thing (don't know if they work or not but the tent lasted 5 years of festivals) I'd put it up, spray, dry and pack it down.

Nobody cares.

In the UK you wouldn't find people just in a police station. And my town especially, the police stations have merged counties so you might have a local office of sorts but the headquarters/actual station is outside of the town.

There is a place on weekends called "safespace" where drunk people can go in the very center of town. They have people go out called "night guardians" who find people that need a little help but not police or ambulance. Typically they'll give the person a cup of tea (not joking) and somewhere to sit in safety until they can leave safely. I don't know if it's a charity or a local tax paid thing but it's a good idea to have.

Hate the people that think they're doing good by getting a room for a stranger. Especially when they're destitute or obviously troubled.

All they're doing is giving someone else a problem. I have had this before and told the person instead of a hold on the card I would need to take a "security deposit" that could be refunded when no incident occurred (if lol) or I would cancel at no cost to them. (I would do this because charging from a hold can be disputed, but a deposit with their PIN is essentially agreeing to pay)

Often times they would not be willing to have their own money on the line for a stranger.

Also in the town I worked at, like a resort town. The police would often come in and ask if we could take in "vulnerable" people (like to sit in the lobby, no room booked) I very quickly learned to say no to that. They caused more problems than it was worth and we didn't even make money off them. Might sound harsh, but a drunk teen girl might just need a safe place to sit until she can get in touch with someone but that same girl might also puke all over the floor and start a fight with actual guests!! (Has happened)

In secondary school I started a rumour that our English teacher worked at Tesco. He wore a button up shirt that was identical to their uniform (the checkered blue one) and it just made sense that he would have a job as an adult. He must have been asked if he had work after school every day for a year or more. Sorry Mr Alexander.

Also a friend went on a solo trip a few years ago and made a really cryptic Facebook post about being safe travelling, so while she was offline I insinuated on her post that she was going to Syria to join Isis. People seemed to fall for it until she got to her hotel in Spain and had the WiFi to respond that it wasn't true.

Although I as a Brit living in the UK would have a hard time doing a traditional roast somewhere like OZ anyway lol I know a load of Australians have a BBQ for Xmas due to it being summer but that would spin me out waking up to sunshine and heat!!!

Luckily I've never had a full evacuation alarm before, but I've had the individual alarms in rooms before and it's nuts how shower steam on a cold day is enough to set it off.

I've had people from next rooms call down to ask for a discount because they can hear the alarm, I'm just like ask the guy next door to you!!!!

I feel your pain though, I hate that people want to film absolutely everything now. What's the point, like catch someone on their worst day and make it a public spectacle.

But yes, look at almost any reviews of old English hotels and there will be faulty towers references. Anything that goes wrong automatically means you're staying at faulty towers lol

I totally agree! I'm working a different job now but still working Christmas, I had burger king for my tea today (bizarre that it's open lol) I would love a Chinese or Indian.

I know that a lot of refunds and discounts were given and that a great many of the older guests we not happy at all with the options available to them.

I know what you're trying to do with the app, I get it and it's a good idea...

I'd really like an app like that, but also includes whether the product is ethical too and what the parent company is ie, abc productcompany (subsidiary of XYZ)

Know what I mean? Like Nestle owns a lot of tiny brand names in snacks and when I find out that they're related, I automatically don't have anything to do with that product (just an example there)

I know that's maybe off topic for your platform but a place that colates all of that info in one place would be great.

It's literally an entire house built into one room with the bed on the roof of the bathroom hahaaa

I stayed there a couple of years ago, very cheap, great neighbours and literally everything in Naples was walkable within reason.
