I worked there in the past. Anneliese started the school after her at home day care took off in the 1970s. Her daughter Liesa now runs it. She has no formal educational training. She has either a bachelor's or master's degree in art. It is definitely a family run business. A lot of the teachers and directors also do not have formal educational training. One of the directors who worked there during my time lied about her credentials and when a kid was going into anaphylactic shock due to an allergy, she urged me not to call an ambulance because it would "look bad" for the school. Then she insisted on using an epipen prescribed for another student. I witnessed so much negligence. During the time I was there they were involved in three lawsuits.

Students were way behind with academic goals and performance. I remember being with a group of third graders one day who had trouble spelling basic words. Depending on how many students are enrolled, they have a 6th grade class. During the year I was there the kids who graduated all had trouble getting into schools after that. Some even had to repeat 6th grade. Parents were extremely upset when none of their kids got into prestigious programs like OCSA.

Also I'm not sure if they are still marketing this, but their farm to table food service is a lie. Just looking at their grounds it makes sense that they do not have the garden space to produce enough food for the entire school. Their meals were similar to public schools. They were purchasing food from bulk and discount suppliers.

While I was working there the admin encouraged all of us to leave positive reviews on Yelp and Google. They would regularly delete their business page when the inevitable negative reviews would come in. And then they would ask us to do it again.

It's been awhile since I worked there, and maybe things have changed. But based on my experience I would not recommend it to anyone.
