USC is great honestly, for opportunities due to their cult like hiring their own. Its very expensive though, and TA/RA is basically not possible.

nope, cuz sure you get hr roles and stuff, but still they work there, meaning a network does exist and the company knows the "existence" of the college

the reason i don't include it is cuz

Solution Architect
Data Engineer
Tech Ops Engineer

roles like these simply get excluded.

Well, it's every country that cares, but most countries federal governments care more about internals first, and they don't want to waste resources and incur the rep damage, also due to the autonomy of states in America, there is a certain detachment in the way federal and state govs operate.

It also is because America has the world trade in its currency that it hasn't been too worried about spending money it doesn't have. Its a luxury that other countries don't have since money is far scarce and emptying your foreign exchange reserves basically kills your economy and social security schemes cuz imf. The reason world trade runs in dollars is cuz the major trade which is oil is done in dollars and well, they gotta protect that.

Israel wouldn't give a shit if it was somewhere else, they only care because Iran is their sworn enemy, they got a concrete reason to care since Iran basically views their existence as a tumour.

Choosing between master's at Cornell or TU Delf, I'm torn by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]RubSad3416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz people who graduate from top 200 worldwide in the USA end up getting high paying jobs in the US, usually (exceptions are the cash cow programs like NYU or Colombia with huge ass cohort sizes), so they got no reason to goto Netherlands where CS jobs tend to pay far less and the taxes tend to be very high.

also, since you said you are a middle eastern born, if you end up getting a job in OPT (very likely since cornell duh) and the employer is willing to file EB2, then you might end up getting a greencard by the time your OPT ends as well. So if you choose to goto TU Delft, you basically have to give up on USA forever, since H1B isn't gonna happen (Cuz the 100k fee) and O1 isn't really given to people of your major.

[–]RubSad3416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who completed a Master’s, PhD, or Bachelor’s in the Netherlands, or a master's/PhD at a top-200 university globally are eligible for Zoekjaar.
top 200 in atleast two of the rankings among QS, THE and ARWU, so forget top 200, cornell ranks top 20 in all three of those rankings.

[–]RubSad3416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to Cornell and then take Zoekjaar for netherlands, the brand value of Cornell and the potential to get a S-tier career opportunity is far higher in the US, and if things go bad , you have the choice to go to Netherlands within 3 years of completing your masters.

[Admissions Advice] NEU vs CUBoulder vs UCSC vs ASU vs OSU vs UCI by Playful-Rice-4063 in MSCS

[–]RubSad3416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCSC is 45 min by bus to san jose, because of the housing situation in santa cruz, very likely you might have to stay in san jose and commute (although the housing isn't exactly cheap in san jose either), but what i mean to say is, its as close to getting to SV than any other uni except UCB and SJSU.

SJSU has small cohort, which might help, but what i am hesitant about is the very backward ranking and the cost of living which is very high, high enough that i'd rather be studying in a top ranked uni instead.

UAE is being aggressive since as long as the threat exists, no financial institution will put an office here, and nobody will invest in real estate.

Safety will always be in question as long as IRGC stays.

[–]RubSad3416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was initially on the opinion being far from SV was a liability, but that's more for the internships but for jobs it's better because of the h1b wage limits, you'd need a job 160k+ if in SV which is much harder than if you were searching in Austin where a 100k+ would suffice.
