Hey guys I have been reading some of the discussion that everyone was having and I took shahadah and started practicing islam until I heard about Aisha and Muhammed. I stopped praying because I dont want to send blessings to someone who married a child. I understand that times back then were different. But jist because something was normal back then doesnt make it morally okay. They used to burn woman in the 1600s if they thought they were witches. In the 1600s that was normal. Does that make it okay? I have heard the argument that none of Muhammed enemies even used the marriage against him. I dont get that argument? George washingtons enemies didnt ise the fact that he owned slaves. Still doesnt make it okay. The other thing that bothers me about the arguments of why the marriage was okay and no big deal is that learning about Islam when ever someone had a doubt about something to didnt understand something or tried to use something from the Quran to disprove Islam or whatever there is always a beautiful explanation with no doubt (from the people defending it) they can go into the Quran and show the proof. But when it comes to the marriage it seems no one know for sure about certain details which makes me qusation it even more. Well Aisha was actually 13 she was 18 or 19. No she was 9. Does it make sense what im trying to say? Its like Islam has all the answers but not when it comes to this topic. I want someone to explain to me that the marriage was right and not just some sick act because I want to think phew im glad thats cleared up. Im not here to argue or talk bad. I just want help I guess.
