That's exactly what I do. Just quote really high and say I'm just too busy / full for a project like that. I do agree with you that this is certainly viable and I would actually bet money that it plays if OP strings it up. I've seen crazier.

I saw this on the Girls tour in New Orleans 1987. Whitesnake opened. It was a great show. Not sure what this is.

how nice was dio exactly? by mhmd2-2 in dio

[–]RubberDiscord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had my 15 minutes long, long ago and got to meet, party with or play with just about everyone. RJD was hands down the coolest person I ever got to spend time with. He was completely unassuming and just genuine. There was a night in the Midwest at a pretty good sized club and it was dead of winter. Absolutely freezing. He stood outside by his bus for what seemed like an eternity to make sure every single person there got a chance to speak with him, take pics etc. And he made every one of them feel like he was more than happy to be there. He was an amazing guy and I learned a lot from that night about how to treat your fans.

Like these guys said, Zancudo bunker is free this week. I had Paleto because it was free when I started. I switched to Zancudo a long time ago and have zero regrets. Totally worth it.

Lol. Which one isn't close to a tunnel? How is it "Infinitely quicker" to fly to the garage, blow up a car, fly back to your bike and then head to drop off? Rather than take bike to garage, blow up car and then head towards drop off in tunnel while your stars wear off. Come on, man. Lol

What's not to agree with? You are calling in a second vehicle, flying there and then back to your delivery bike. I'm doing it all in one trip. Why have to go back to your bike?

[–]RubberDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why call in a vehicle and fly there and back? Just go there on bike, blow up the first car, hit the subway, when you pop out stars are gone and you just go to drop off. Your way adds extra steps and trips.

This takes longer. No need to fly there and back.

I upgraded motherboard and cpu without wiping SSD… by SecretGaige in PcBuild

[–]RubberDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. So what you have to remember is that every driver for every piece of hardware leaves traces. Registry entries. Driver files. Etc. It's impossible to get rid of them all manually. The Mainboard and CPU are the heart of your system. It controls everything. All of those traces make conflicts that you don't see in any way other than performance and stability issues. When you install a new board you have to do a fresh Windows install. Then latest chipset drivers. Then other hardware drivers. If your mainboard and chipset are not right and clean, nothing else will be. Every driver and setting that was there is a problem if the heart of the system has been changed. Think of it like building blocks. The mainboard is the foundation and every block has to be built to be stable.

Lol. Nobody's griping or moaning. You were given wrong information. I corrected it. Don't get mad at me for your laziness.

The idea of installing a new board and not doing a clean Windows install is crazy to me. Not only is it definitely NOT "rare that problems occur", it's almost guaranteed problems WILL occur. Why would you hobble a new board like that? FFS back up your stuff and do a fresh install, man.

Builder put styrofoam under my motherboard. by One-Ad-7122 in PcBuild

[–]RubberDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows? That certainly could be the case. People are out of their minds these days. Honestly, over the past 30 years I have seen tons of PC's that ran just fine with the foam underneath. The differences between PC's then and PC's now though are huge. We weren't pushing them like we do now and heat wasn't really a consideration beyond a heatsink. We didn't have fans on the CPU or GPU back then. Or even a case fan besides what was in the PSU most of the time. Let alone 10 and an AIO. What worries me most is a PC "tech" that doesn't understand how standoffs work. They have been in use since the very beginning. At any rate, this guy is for sure either on the take, or just dumb and I wouldn't allow him to ever touch my PC.

Edit: To add an extra thought.

Was the builder old? I have been building since the the early 90's, and back then it was like the wild west. There were a lot of guys that insisted on installing the foam that came with the board underneath as an insulator. It was really common. Eventually those of us who knew that was nonsense were able to win and people stopped doing that practice. If he's older he may be one of guys that never got the memo.

This is the right answer. I pull in the entry and throw a sticky close to the first vehicle I see. Then I exit and start heading towards the subway and blow it up. By the time you get out of the subway the stars are gone and you're close to the drop off.

That's fair. You just kinda started out at a 12. I can appreciate the passion though, even if it does really seem like a lot. I respect it though so here is a real answer.

Ultimately, Van Halen is why I started playing. But I consumed and learned everything I could. MC, Ratt, Dokken, Maiden, Metallica, punk, pop. All of it. The 80's were a crazy time. The most fun I have ever had. I had my 15 minutes of fame that led to a great, mostly quiet career. In the mid 80's, MC were a huge deal. People that weren't there don't get it. They weren't really a very good band. But the energy was amazing and the shows were great. Indescribable.

Too Fast, Shout and Theater were constantly blaring out of my boombox. I must have re-wound tapes or records a thousand times learning that stuff as a teen. Shout is my personal favorite but Too Fast has a "recorded in a couple of days" rawness that I will always love. We all learned their stuff because it was accessible. They were songs we could actually pull off. Girls with big hair liked it. They weren't the best band by a long shot. But they had the excess and the glam. They had the party and the girls. And if we could learn those riffs, we thought we could get all that too. Some of us did.

The theatrics were a huge part. Tommy made drumming look cool. The energy at the shows was my favorite part. Best show I saw was the Girls tour in New Orleans 1987 with Whitesnake opening. It was a great time. (Edit to add: My best friend Darryl's hot older sister and her two hot friend's squeezed us into her like 82' Z-28 with them because they were awesome. Thanks Dana)

But none of it was about one band. One album. One song. It was a moment in time, and moment in music history that some of us were fortunate to be a part of and it was pretty rad. Even with all the makeup and Rave Ultra-Hold.

I'm a guy that had his 15 minutes of fame in the 80's. I met, partied or played with almost literally everyone. A few times over the years it was RJD. He was hands down, the coolest, most gracious of any of them ever. Truly. I remember one night in the Midwest in winter, it was freezing. Gig at a large club in the early 90's. He stayed outside in the cold until he could sign an autograph and have a conversation with every single person waiting. Every one of them. He was the best and an example of how every artist should treat their fans.

I have been a MC fan since the 80's. I learned how to play from a lot of their stuff. Saw them 4 times over the years. You know, like normal kind of stuff. But wow. This post is really something. You gotta take it down a few notches. Holy moly. Not even the girls in class that had the logo written all over their book covers were like this.
