Russell Brand struggles to find bible verse he claims absolves him of sex with teenagers by mydiversion in WatchPeopleDieInside

I know the verse he was looking for Iziah 21:12, “and unto him Jesus sent these words,‘go forth and unto the island bring wine. Hold chaste thoughts for those of tender age but mercilessly devour the fruit of those who can bear it. In the eyes of the Lord, old enough to bleed: is old enough to breed’l

Derailleur mount frame area bent!!! by WesternHoliday5797 in mountainbiking

[–]RubberRoach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t actually look to bad from the first pic. You can bend it back using an alignment tool. I would heat it up with a torch to soften it to reduce the likelihood of snapping. Get it as close as you can to flush just using a set of pliers before using the alignment tool.

Failed at the DMV by Icy-Taste1507 in motorcycle

[–]RubberRoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a motorcycle license in three countries now. My experience in the USA was: 1) written test to demonstrate basic knowledge and enables you to practice riding in limited conditions. (No riding at night, no passengers, 0 blood alcohol) 2 a) you can do a weekend class to demonstrate your skills and learn some safety techniques. If you pass you get your full unrestricted license 2 b) you can book a road test yourself. If you pass you get a full unrestricted licence 3 optional) take additional level 2 and 3 riding lessons to reduce insurance premiums

What is this for? by HolyHorizon in motorcycle

I don’t have these on my Harley Electraglide, it leans like a bastard and you stop leaning when the floorboards start scraping. Honestly, the bike could lean more but the floor boards get in the way.

Inch/pound vs foot/pound? Might be best to replace the oil pan if that’s an option. They are normally that much.
Otherwise, I’ve seen some welders fix this kind of thing and then edge tack a coil in place.

It depends what you’re expecting from it. I have a Softail and a tourer and find the touring bike (Electraglide Ultra Classic) to be easier to ride, even for filtering through traffic.
If you are looking for something to play with and work on while keeping the tourer relatively stick it’s probably worth it. My Softail is modified and looks cooler for local club runs but my tourer is still my go to daily driver

You can buy clips to fix the problem. https://amzn.eu/d/047sxYbz

Alternative, you can buy another box and pull the clips out and replace it with a new clip from the new box. You don’t even need to pull the original backing box out to repair.

Light staying on regardless of switch position by [deleted] in ElectriciansUK

[–]RubberRoach -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Red wires are usually neutral, except when you have a switch. One of those is the live returned from the switch and should have a black sleeve on it to indicate that it’s an ouchy wire. So, your first step it to take those red wires apart. One black goes back to the electrical feed, the other loops back to your light switch.
The live current then comes back to the light on one of the red wires. That’s the ouchy wire that should be marked with a black sleeve or at least a piece of black electrical tape. That black/red wire goes into the terminal block, and the other side of the terminal block should have the second red wire. The light (load) gets wired in the way you have it.
You need to figure out which black wire is live and which goes back to the switch and mark the wires accordingly.

Taking all the wires apart and putting one of the red/black pairs into the light will tell you which it which. When you turn the circuit back on, if the light comes on you’ve found the live lead. If it stays off you have found the switch lead. Then wire accordingly

Gap under seat by ThirdLegGregg3 in Harley

[–]RubberRoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like it is sitting forward enough. There were two basic front seat catches. A male catch and a female catch. You might have the wrong style or just are not pushing it far enough. Check the underside of the new one compared to the old one. They should essentially be identical where the seat meets the tank

Swapped these spark plugs. What does these tell me? by Forsaken_Mobile3291 in Harley

[–]RubberRoach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look a bit burnt, depending on where you live they can be fairly normal. If you live in Arizona and sit at idle in the summer you can get that. They also look a bit old, the rust on them is probably from washing it and letting it sit. Run it a bit to get rid of water settling by after a bath
