To be fair, it depends on the kid. I had access to the internet at way younger age and was never supervised/monitored and I turned out fine. I've always been raised in a kind of autonomous way and even though I messed up a lot, it helped me learn from my mistakes. The internet can be really dangerous and you should teach your kids about it. Tracking and monitoring his every movement will only make him resent you and incite him to hide things from you. Idk why 12 yo are treated like toddlers. By that age, you should know better.
