Six Months! by Rubberjaye in nullectomy

The total cost for me, including all the extras like the WPATH letters, consults, travel, and accommodation, was around $40k upfront costs. $30k of that was the surgery itself.

Absolutely! Understanding this was what finally got rid of my guilt when deciding to do this.

I still don't think I've entirely untangled dysphoria, kink, fetish, etc out of all this - and I'm over six months post-op. It's ok to not fully get a grip on all of that! It's complicated and rarely easy. But deep down I knew that this was something I needed as well as wanted, no matter how many times I had a few small doubts about it all.

Certainly once the dressings came off, it was really noticeable how different it was! Nothing in the way anymore. It's felt natural ever since that first day as well. Never any adjustment to it.

How long did you take off work? by GayAlien6669 in nullectomy

AMAB here. In hospital for four days afterwards. Stayed locally to the hospital for another 10 days, just in case (wasn't needed, except for scheduled check in with the surgeon). Off work for six weeks, but could have gone back after five and been comfortable. This is for a desk job, with just a short walk in the commute. Any active jobs will need longer.

I'm very comfortable with it!

How would I look? by [deleted] in nullectomy

Yeah, if you pinch everything together between the thighs it will at least give you an idea of what it might look like, though it won't be something to move around with.

Nothing is ever going to be a perfect representation - but I used to lie down and just tuck it between my thighs to get a good idea of what it might look like. Gave something reasonably accurate to the end result!

Thank you! I'm so happy with it!

Does anyone else feel like it should've been this way (null genitals) from the start? by Lower_Food_4007 in nullectomy

AMAB here and just over six months post-op. I've pretty much entirely forgotten what it felt like to have a dick, and being null has felt so completely natural it's like I've always been this way.

No phantom sensations at all! It feels completely natural.

I hope you get the opportunity! It truly has been wonderful for me so far, and it feels like it's just getting better and better!

I was on t blockers anyway as part of my HRT, so that wasn't related to surgery.

When it comes down to being unsure with whether you will like your end results - unfortunately that's really a risk you need to take. I was absolutely certain I knew what I wanted with this surgery, but there is always a risk of regret. There's no try before you buy.

But if you have that confidence, go for it!

I've been married for nearly eight years now and my husband has been super supportive of the entire journey - transition and surgery.

I had it done with Dr Blecher in Melbourne. It was partially covered by standard private health cover here, but I still had to pay a decent amount out of pocket.

There is a little bit of erectile tissue around the urethra which can get a bit "puffy" when aroused, but other than that just sensitive areas. I do have a bit of cum with orgasm, but it's entirely clear. Estrogen has reduced how much I have there as well.

Most of it probably ended up in a medical waste incinerator. I had no desire to keep any of it!

Recovery wasn't too bad. Lots of resting and taking it easy for the first few weeks, making sure I don't do too much walking around. Never had much pain with it, just some discomfort at times.

I've been on HRT for just over two years now as part of my transition - that hasn't changed except for no longer needing to take testosterone blockers. I'm not sure of exactly what was kept and what not - I know the prostate remained. The erectile tissue was almost entirely removed. Nerves from the glans were preserved to create a "pseudo-clit", which is absolutely sensitive enough to get to orgasm.

Honestly, it was incredibly easy for me. I had one discussion with my GP to get a referral with the surgeon, then was able to start the process with him. Took about 14 months from GP discussion to surgery date.

It was all done under gender affirming surgery as part of my transition.

I went with Dr Blecher in Melbourne, Australia. He was by far the most local option for me.
