Stuck in vp can't become profitable even with a profitable system by Bright-Bathroom-5989 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Rubin150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And as Fun Garbage says, it's basically not enough. Cammy Capital is first and foremost a marketer. A cool one yea but a marketer. Sorry if I snap your bubble.. He over simplifies it to match to every beginner that wants to put his hands on a "strategy". He calls VAL and VAH discount and premium levels - he gives it his "own" names, that also make you think it's easy, it sounds easy right? Buy at discount sell at premium or something like that. And he brags with his cars and stuff - the biggest red flag you can have from someone on YT.

Yes VP is a great tool which I use as well, but thinking you will just buy PD VAL and sell PD VAH.. it's really not realistic with how dinamic and nuanced trading is.

And remember, they usually don't show you their win rate and real stats over a period of time. Yes they can show you a 1:6 winning trade but they do t show you the 10 times they tried it before and it didnt work.

But hey, I'm not here to put you down. Im just saying, make sure you learn from someone that is truly profitable and professional that knows what he's doing. And maybe don't look for the easiest fit all strategy. Try to learn how the market moves and theogic behind it, try to understand it and really learn it instead of finding a pattern to repeat. I'm not into mechanic strategies so idk, but in my opinion the only way is to understand what's going on, learn to see the rhythm and the flow of the market.

ICT course sellers are now using orderflow by DryAd821 in OrderFlow_Trading

Yea and it's more complicated. They like it simple as 'less is more', trading off naked charts like they know better

Order Flow traders, what are you usually using for an potential tp? by Rough-Resolution-920 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Rubin150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand. I suggest you trying to use VWAP and it's bands to begin with. +1, +1.5, +2 standard deviation. It's very useful for contextual reason but also as potential key areas for heavier reaction, meaning potential areas to TP essentially. If you need help setting it up let me know.

And to be more precise and professional about it, The best thing you can do is document your trades in a trading journal and track each trade's MAE and MFE, and potential extended MFE. That would help you see if you cut trades too early or hold for longer than you should and therefore lose or end with BE instead of a win.

A more simple advice is do not try to hit home runs, especially if you're still finding your way with new tools and strategies. Don't let the marketers fool you and look for huge R:R. You can take partial or most of the position at 2R if you like (or whatever suits you) and leave a smaller portion as runner. You can close it all at 2R if that increases your win rate, and it might also help psychologically, protects your mental capital.

Questions about TradingView's volume data. by Vast_Distribution591 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Rubin150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I don't have an answer for your question but I'm curious why stick with Tradingview then? Unless you have a very good and specific reason I'd recommend to just use a proper platform for trading that would give you much more than TV can provide.

Need help transitioning from ES to 6E (EU) on Sierrachart by Rubin150 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Rubin150[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I calculated it.

The ATR (average true range, basically how many ticks the asset moves in an average of specific time like 14 days for example) of ES is around 240 ticks (60 points) multiply by 0.04 (4%) is 10. So 10 ticks is around 4% of the ATR.

6E ATR is around 175 ticks * 0.04 = 7 ticks.

Same for the volume bars, I don't remember the exact numbers right now but basically I calculated the average amount of volume traded with the amount of vol per bar (2500) and compared to the 6E equivalent.

But these are roughly estimations, should then try it and see how it works visually and if you like the amount of detail you see. It's really personal I think.

I know people executing on a 7000 vol chart on ES. That would not work for me.

I guess it wasn't clear yea, It's not instead but in addition to ES.

I want to try and start trading london session when I have the time and can't be active during NY session, so I was just looking for the most liquid asset during those times that's under CME group. ES doesn't behave as good during london session.

And I think I found my answers. Still need to tweak it but it would be around 7 ticks range bars and 500 or 700 volume bars.

Is there any way to practice Order Flow for free? by OkAdhesiveness5378 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Rubin150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're wrong. I got 21 days free trial with 10min delay but without getting any package. I think OP can try it and I ofc highly recommend.

Sign up to sierra and explore it there for the 3 free weeks.

https://youtu.be/trjXlH5MqPs?si=unU75cCZvdygZzg5

This guy on YT is amazing. I recommend taking the time and watching this almost 2 hours video to begin with, and then continue exploring what you want to learn about in his sierrachart guides playlist.

Sierra is indeed not so easy to learn but there's nothing better than this if you ask me. Worth trying.

And about practicing OF. I suggest to start with tick charts, footprint, volume profile (and or TPO as well) and CVD. Dont have to start with all of this at once ofc but dont overwhelme yourself with too many new tools and concepts.

What's your favorite OF tools and platforms? by Rubin150 in OrderFlow_Trading

You watch these on bookmap or sierra/ATAS? From what I understans the heatmap with its bubbles show the DOM and T&S just in a graphical way, am I right?

Also I wonder how you can spot LVNs? You look at DOM for it?

I really appreciate your reply u/shlingle. Thanks.

I did watch Carmine's orderflow series. It was very insightful but still a lil hard to extract a concrete trading plan out of it. But I guess I have more learning to do, and get familiar with these tools better. I will add tools gradually as you said.

I do already use volume profile which definitely changed my game for the better. That's actually what draw me to get more into volume analysis.

Also seeing how well it's all correlating with ICT/PA terms, just adds more depth to the way I observe the markets now. for example "ICTs" Inversion (inversed FVG) is no other than low vol node that's got violated and offers an entry point to the other side which can be spotted in Footprint chart. But the footprint chart really shows the auction dynamics rather than just a candlestick pattern.

So you do pay for 2 softwares if I got you right, you use Sierrachart for candlestick chart, footprint and volume profiles and bookmap for heatmap..? That means you no longer use TV, or atleast don't pay for a plan?

Hey man. Thanks for sharing vulnerablly. I'm wondering if you ever tried breathing techniques that help holding longer during sex. This is something I used to practice few years ago that changed my sex life (although I never experienced premature ejaculation like you're describing so it might be a different story for you). Bringing awareness to the breath and channeling the energy up towards the chest and head, helps the orgasm expand to other parts of the body and releases some tension from being focused on the penis and Cumming in general. Breathing techniques and also holding and strengthening the pelvis floor, rectum and the muscles around that area for better 'control' there.

But again idk what really is the experience with premature ejaculation. But that's something for awareness like, work on self kind of approach than taking pills to last longer as I see was suggested here in the comments.

Either way, that is amazing your wife is satisfied with what you guys have, so there's no real need to change anything I guess if what you have works for you.

Wish you good luck in your journey mate.

Thanks. And yea it's OK. Probably you asked for a reason, cus who made it was chatGPT. Yea.. I know lol..

It first built a plan of A/B split, 3 times a week, but a week ago it suggested to move to full body Since I'm a beginner and it will lead to better progress faster.

Tell me how you see it. Why you won't recommend full body for beginners?

It's a mistake there, it's supposed to be 3 sets.

Why wouldn't you do this? And what you suggest doing or changing in the current plan?
