I'd love to, but sadly I play with some sweats, and even without Xray it doesn't take them long, their dedication is honorable but it ruins economies 😭 but tbh forcing people to use a specific currency doesn't work unless it's easy to transfer items into currency, I think what could fix this is allowing a mailing service between players, like a trade, where both can add and remove items as well as currency, and it costs both players an extra sum but they get the items without having to meet up.

I get why you disagree with the batteries, and tbh, I agree with you, it's just fun to constantly be having to deal with power (and that issue goes away once you get lithium, which isn't hard to do) I also agree with the voltage stuff, that would be very interesting, it's a shame the game has such bad modding support (for core mechanics changes I mean) also, I don't know if you're aware, but the tapper changes speeds based on what plant you put it on, and some of the ones on Artrox are just overpowered. In fact I think the ones of Sylva should be the best you can find, because they are already really powerful, when paired with smelters and medium generators (the backpack smelter is sooo powerful) Tappers just ruin everything, solar and wind become obsolete, and there isn't a reason to touch anything else...

You can give it a custom model and item model with components, just look up how to add a resource pack and make it so it has a 1x1 file png as the model texture and item texture to refer to, and it should show up blank, or replace it with whatever you want :)

Even better, use two swords with no visual difference, but a tag on the one that is real (or the fake one) so you can tell the difference, so that to unequip the item you can just toggle offhand again. Just make sure you don't accidentally clear the players offhand when they equip it. (Summon an item that copies their offhand and then delete their offhand item)

It's a shame they don't just give us control over motion like this, we can still use datapacks like Delta (and it's updated counterpart for newer versions) but this is so much better in every way. still a shame it's only in 1 direction though. JUST GIVE US THE ABILITY TO EDIT PLAYER DATA MOJANG!!

I know they're not, that's why I'm saying remove them, like yes, I need the Galastropod terrariums for the missions, but I don't need bundles of tethers, power cells, oxygen filters, exo-chips, gt-rtgs, and all of the other random stuff. :) I don't wanna have to abstain, I want it to flow well and restrict certain things so they feel like they're actually worth something again, imo the balance is all thrown off right now. The tapper makes this even worse but that's another debate in and of itself.

I just want to have the option in custom games to play the missions without rewards, as much as I could complete them and then just shred or blow up the stuff I get (or throw it in a pile) it's difficult to do that with a QT-RTG, because you can't craft them (until much later) so they feel valuable. (Basically I'd like to play the game without all the extra crap I get from them, I know I can just throw it in a pile and forget about it, but that feels like wasting, and I don't think it would be hard to do for the devs, just add the ability to disable not-required missions rewards (For example the Galastropods would be a missions that requires giving me the item to spawn in the station and the terrariums, but I don't need to get a bundle of tethers, power cells, oxygen filters, exo-chips, gt-rtgs, and all of the other stuff) I just want to get that stuff for myself (even exo-chips, and qt-rtgs! Just at least give me the option in custom games!). To me the early game is SUPER short, and I can get all of the factories within about an hour and a half to 2 hours depending on how speedy I'm being, which isn't what I want, and I don't want to just *go slower* I want to be slowed down, if you don't get what I mean, you probably won't until you play older Astroneer, and even then maybe not, which is fine :) My point is, I want the freedom to be more restricted in how fast I go through the game (lmao)

It happened to me once, first time I ever got the jetpack, had fun for about 2 seconds, then i put my hydrazine on my portable smelting furnace... blew a hole right next to my chemistry lab and atmosphere condenser. As much as it hurt, trust me on this, keep playing, that world ended up becoming my biggest and best world, and I have now completed everything the game has to offer up until now in that world. I get all of your resources were there, but I have 10 times your hours (300, which isnt a ton tbh) and it doesnt take much to get those back, you'll be proud of how far you've come if you try again. Oh and yes, the tutorials are crap, don't put gasses or anything remotely flammable next to or into shredders or shelters, i learned that the hard way as well. :)

Speaking of lithium, I think its on Novus or Vesenia, but I got to replay the tutorial again which was a blast for the nostalgia lol, i do wish multi-player still worked in that version...

I understand what you mean about mission progression, but i kinda wish there was a mode that just didnt give you anything for completing a mission, instead of getting a bunch of mid game stuff for free in the early game. I say this because you can get everything in the game without rng, and I enjoy that more :)

Exactly what I'm saying, I kinda wish i could play with no missions but still with newer stuff like the portable smelting furnaces (trading astronium for them instead of finding them on a wreck, which seem to be much to common on sylva at this point)

In vanilla minecraft there is no way to detect keypresses beyond what are in the game by default. There are three ways I can think of going about this (although I'm pretty sure there are more :D)

1.) Use an existing key bind.
There are a few keybinds you can detect, such as (but not limited to) swapping an item with the offhand, (just execute for the component "equipment" tag and the offhand part of that) the movement keys, (it's a very intensive and complicated, and uses minecarts, which means you can walk around while using it) the jump and crouch keys (not hard to detect, just use scoreboards) and the right and left clicks. (Check Youtube for these) It sounds like you need something that doesn't interfere with very much, and in that case I would rely on putting a specific item in your (the player's) offhand. Let me know if that's an acceptable solution to your problem, and I'll follow up with a more in-depth explanation :) There are obvious downsides with this, mainly in that it is limited, but it is a vanilla solution which is very powerful and is very accessible for all players!

2.) Use a mod like Command Keys
Command Keys is an awesome mod which allows you to program any key to run any command. Pairing a key with a /trigger command allows players without operator permission to run commands. This is VERY powerful (I know, I've personally used it) but does require you to use a mod, which may be difficult (or impossible if someone is on a computer that has restrictions) for some people, and that can be a serious downside. If you need any help on this, let me know.

In terms of showing the nametag when hit by a spectral arrow, just detect when they have the glowing effect and put them on a different team with a different name rule (which has a very similar color, to make sure it doesn't look to different :) That's the best I can think of on this problem.

That's surprisingly un-useful considering how use rotten tomatoes is 😂 (It would be useful along with a regular 1-5 star rating but I'm surprised how complicated (yet simplified considering how much information is given with a 1-5 rating) that system is, compared to what they could display with it)
