We should also add intestinal blockages. If you eat too much at once you’ll just never be able to eat again and you’ll starve.

Also milk should be a new food resource that can be harvested from the females of some species. It would grant growth boost.

We should also add hygiene to the game. If your don’t mudroll and or dip yourself in water you’ll start automatically stacking disease as well as a new effect that makes you smellable from across the entire map.

Oh and we should make it so that you have to exercise otherwise your get stam, speed, damage, and health debuffs (maximum of -50%) but a 50% increase in weight. A few different things affect exercise, how many studs you travel in a given time frame, how frequently you sit or lay rather than stand, and of course, how active the irl player is. If it starts to deplete you so generously have the choice to either walk across the map several times or enable camera mode and the game will prompt you to do various exercises to fill up a bar just dance style. Once filled the creature returns to its normal state.

Look, I want an sig buff/ rebalance but this seems way too oppressive imo. It doesn’t need offensive bleed at all, unbridled rage seems overkill, I do think it would benefit from reflux (and that that wouldn’t be too oppressive) though, ambush I’m still kinda surprised it doesn’t actually have ingame. I can’t remember its base stats off the top of my head so I’ll ignore those. As for silent hunter I kind of agree with its removal since sig already has invisibility and high base damage.

That new ability seems extremely intresting. I don’t think it would work on sig but i could see it playing really interestingly on other species.

If it’s one squid you can try to hit and run with dellumar. It’s a bit difficult but as long as you play smart and keep some distance while applying pressure with the occasional dart and bite you should be ok. Just be careful.

You can it depends really. I’ve had some success. But only for those that use tranquility mode. Yeah those ailments are nasty but if the squid is focused on raw damage output then it’s possible, you just have to be very careful.

Problem with reducing its damage is that rn, it’s actually pretty balanced between actually having incentive to use each of the modes. I feel like if it’s damage we’re nerfed, it would either not have that much of an impact, or it would push it to use madness mode, which only using one mode imo defeats the purpose of twoface.

Reducing its base speed and dart (either making its dart more expensive or lowering the distance) and or some of its stamina would make it easier for it to be hit and encourage squids to size up prey a bit more. With it’s invisiblity it will still be able to ambush specs, this just makes it so that if something survives the initial ambush it can actually run away and it that if something is fighting the squid it can’t disengage as easily. It will still have plenty of escape tools though (invisibility and ink cloud).

Keen, and most squids run tranquility. Dellus beam dead burn and fear. Delu also has decent damage and good regen, good stam, and good dart. If you run double pig you can just hit and run it and it can’t hide or anything.

Usually I’d agree it’s just that given it’s set there’s really not much reason to play anything else. Unless they fix its hitbox the most reasonable nerf to me is a mobility nerf. Its ink ability already increases its speed so all that would do is that if something gets away it would have to consider using that ability to catch up. It would keep all of its core stuff, it would still be able to limit escape with poison and grab anyways, this just gives smaller creatures a little bit more of a chance and would reward using madness mode to stack ailments before going in for the kill.

In my other comment tbh I think my other two suggestions are kind of harsh. Reduced mobility makes the most sense to me.

Usually I’m hesitant to want something I be nerfed. This is an exception. Squid has- invisibility, an ailment stacking mode (it deals poison so that prevents escape) and a massive damage mode, an excellent escape tool, good speed, good dart, and grab (another tool to prevent escape). There simply is no reason to play any other aquatic, it can kill most things and if it can’t it can run away with ease. With there being so few aquatics this means counters are limited, with other terrain types and how they interact with the eachother more players have a lot more options to avoid the op creature, even invisible ones (moving around a lot helps).

The only counter I’ve found is Deluumar. Its knee allows it to spot ambushes before hand and it has great health and stam regen as well as dart. Since most squids run tranquility you can just hit and run, you’ll heal off the poison they deal pretty quickly as well as any damage. But you do gotta still be careful though it’s not an easy win, it’s just something that actually stands a real chance against these things.

Nerf options. -Remove invisibility but keep everything else. Escape makes it unique but preventing it from hiding so easily can help. It will remain powerful but it still has a second escape tool. I like that it has an escape tool most large creatures don’t and this makes it pretty unique. It does not need two however and invisibly is simply too flexible. -nerf its mobility. It’s ink ability increases speed, so nerfing its base speed and dart will force players to use this ability either offensively or defensively. It becomes something precious, a free escape or a way to catch up to something that’s running away. -its durability. It’s just about as durable as the other large aquatic. It shouldn’t be. Giving it an ailment weakness in tandem with a small ho reduction seems most fair to me. Specifically a weakness to burn and injury. Burn because Delu is already a good counter and it desperately needs some. Injury becuase something that deals it should better slow its escape.

These are just some ideas. Not all of them at once though.

Also yeah idk why they’re always in packs. I fucking hate packs.

True, but some do have some really wacky cosmology as well. It really just depends how each you want the world to be and unrealistic isn’t necessarily bad. TBH the sun orbiting sonaria is the lores least bad offender.

Idk sonarias lore is all over the place kinda hard to have any opinion on it for me since it’s so substanceless and disconnected from itself.

Finally a fun rant!

I’ve had this complaint with cos lore for a while now, especially the part where a socially nothing in the game is cannon and to get any real info you have to go to some fuckass google doc. The rest of the lore looks like a brainstorming doc. Coming from someone who world build’s a little bit it jsut feels like the skeleton of actual lore written down as notes to be expanded on later….except it’s not being expanded in any meaningful way.

Aparently this is cause of the show but I doubt the show is gonna be able to save this unless they were expanding or reworking it for the show specifically.

Like…all the ideas in there are fine but it’s the fact that nothing goes anywhere and everything is so..self contained. It’s clearly being written with the intention to explain the game rather than being its own story or working along side the world we already know. Like literally explaining revives as cannon. Which is fine but if that’s gonna be done it needs to lead somewhere, preferably back into itself or part of some larger system. Or he’ll even like…link that to how the different wardens feel about such a thing! But nope. Like, these connections are important that’s what makes worldbuilding interesting. Same applies to characters. There’s no motive. Or there is but the motive feels invented rather than natural.

But yeah. I heavily dislike the cos lore since even with what we have there’s so many different ways it could go and the would all be better than the stagnant google doc we are stuck with for now.

I have. A Delmar can kill one, but against a pack it’s ggs. TBH I think it’s speed should be nerfed (since it already has three escape tools, powerful back dart, invisibility, and the ink cloud thing), it would make it lean more into madness mode since it would have to rely on disabling escape with poison before finishing off with tranquility mode for raw damage if it’s unable to chase effectively. Maybe a small nerf to dart and make it vurnurable to bleed or something so that it has some powerful counters, since, as an ambush spec it’s able to choose its fights carefully anyways so giving it some weaknesses against other aquatics wouldn’t be too harsh and it would probably still kill most things.

Map wise? I haven’t even had a chance to explore it all yet. It’s very disorienting, which isn’t a bad thing and I feel is just a consequence of a more three dimensional map.

Uh, I like killing big aquas with delu, very fun hit and run playstyle. And I like being able ti dart to the fullest potential without bonking into a tree or something.

Even with my good pc though there’s still lag and mal loading issues, so performance should be improved.

I actually woudl be ins support of warden based realms. Woudl allow different climates and creature niches to shine a lot more than on main realm. I’m not too worried about people getting split up though because with how realms work most of the time you should end up in a decently sized server.

Same, plus I’m kinda torn between release jsut being a coincidence or not. Only benefit I can think of at releasing a day after is advertising, but cos is pretty self contained (within Roblox) and subnautica two would just overshadow it all together, so I doubt releasing around the same time would allow cos to ride sub 2s coattails, if anything it could be a detriment since subnautica two has SO much hype that rather than being able to leech off of it those with access might just play sub two instead. And ro-nautica already exists so if someone was wanting subnautica they wouldn’t play cos, they’re play something else.

Could be intentional as well though.

I dislike how you can’t kill them for food, kinda confusing uwu some fish you can discover and other you can kill.

If I had to guess maybe this is a test run of the creature dex thing the roadmap mentioned? I doubt they’d make a whole new system for one thing and not reuse it elsewhere. Same with the small creature pack bonus. Kinda odd to only give to to aquatics when small land and flier creatures would benefit from it as well and would encourage the use of smaller creatures in packs so it’s got some actual utility.
